Can’t believe they got this in today. No details about how the scrimmage went.
Alabama Rowing Battles Rain in Spring Break Scrimmage Against Navy Tuesday
The Crimson Tide will return to the water this weekend at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational
Alabama rowing battled rainy conditions Tuesday afternoon on the Black Warrior River, competing in a spring break scrimmage against the U.S. Naval Academy.
"Despite the rain it was another great environment at Manderson Landing," UA head coach Glenn Putyrae said. "We had some really competitive races with Navy and gained some valuable racing experience. We felt all the crews had some strong pieces and identified where we can improve heading into the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational."
The Crimson Tide returns to the water this weekend at the Oak Ridge Cardinal Invitational. Two days of racing in Oak Ridge, Tenn., begins Saturday, March 19.

Day 1 of women's swimming ncaas :nana; we finished 4th in the 200 medley. Basically everyone was shooting for 2nd, UVA was destroying everyone. The thing that stands out the most was morgan scott having the fastest butterfly leg out of all 24 teams. She's not even top 50 in the 100 butterfly, but is #6 in the 50 free. We were seeded #4 overall and dropped a tad over 0.6 seconds off our season best. 5th place was over a second behind us, so 2nd-4th was the real race. SEC record and school record is a real solid way to start the meet.
800 free relay is the other event tonight. We're seeded 17th, and top 16 score points. If we walk away with any points here I'll chalk it up as a W. If we don't, well... we weren't really supposed to lol. Update, we finished 13th... sitting 7th overal after the first day.

Alabama opened the 2022 Women's NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships with a Southeastern Conference and school record in the 200 medley relay on the way to a fourth-place finish at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the Georgia Tech campus.
Rhyan White, Avery Wiseman, Morgan Scott and Kalia Antoniou combined to post a 1:33.29, bettering the SEC and school mark they set at last month's SEC Championships. Scott's time of 22.26 on the butterfly leg was the fastest of the race. Alabama was the only SEC school to finish in the top-10 in the championships' first race.
Later in the evening, Scott, Cora Dupre, Antoniou and Mela Delmenico combined to post a season-best 7:01.05 in the 800 freestyle relay, good for 13th place overall.
At the end of the first day of competition, Alabama was seventh in the team race with 38 points, standing as the top SEC school.
Alabama Head Coach Margo Geer
"Tonight fired us up for the rest of the meet/ Rhyan, Avery, Morgan and Kalia came together for a great 200 medley relay, breaking the SEC and school record, and our 800 free relay posted our best time this season and we moved up from our seeding. We know we're up against elite competition all week and it will be important for us to move through this meet one session at a time. Alabama’s Bobby Colantonio Jr. Named USTFCCCA South Region Field Athlete of the Year
The Crimson Tide junior went undefeated in the weight throw during the 2022 indoor season, winning the SEC and NCAA title along the way
Alabama junior Bobby Colantonio Jr. is the 2022 USTFCCCA South Region Field Athlete of the Year, the coaches' association announced Thursday.
The Crimson Tide standout won Alabama's first NCAA weight throw title earlier this month in Birmingham, Ala., adding it to the SEC title he won last month. Colantonio dominated the competition, with four of his six throws at the NCAA Championships going better than the best mark by the second-place finisher.
The Rhode Island, native went undefeated in the weight throw in 2022 after opening the season with a career-best and UA record throw of 24.15 meters, which ranks him eighth all-time collegiately. Of the 20 throws over 23.00 meters in 2022, Colantonio produced 14.
Colantonio is the first member of the UA men's team to earn indoor South Region Field Athlete of the Year honors.
Alabama Throws Coach Derek Yush Said
"We are super proud of Bobby. He continually works hard to perfect his technique and is becoming a great competitor. He is certainly highly deserving of this latest honor and we know the sky is the limit for this young man."

So tonight we had kensey mcmahon finishing 7th in the 500 free. Morgan scott and Cora dupree placed 4th and 5th in the 50 freestyle. Morgan broke Cora's hours old school record here. Kalia Antoniou finished 10th for us as well. We just wrapped up tonight's events by finishing 2nd in the 200 free relay. Despite us having 3 of the top 10 finishers in the 50 free, UVA ran us over. They had #1, 2, and 13... and their 4th crushed the 200 IM record tonight. So finishing 2nd to them is pretty darn legit.
We're now sitting in 4th place overall.

This really speaks to how badly UVA is dominating. It's like a bama/uga all-star football team vs the other 130 fbs schools. They've broken national records in the 2 of the 3 individual events so far. One of my prom dates swam at UVA, and i honestly thought that program was sunk after they unexpectedly fired Bernandino after decades of him leading their program. They've bounced back to better than before, and it's amazing to see how damn good they are... despite how it affects my ability to talk smack about women's swimming. I want nothing more than to knock off one of their relays for a 1st place finish.

Don’t understand why ESPN doesn’t cover swimming/diving. I mean they are showing hockey, wrestling, lacrosse, but no swimming championships.

FYI - It’s on ESPN3 (on line). I saw it when I was looking for the women’s basketball game which was also on ESPN3. If you have ESPN you should be able to log in with your tv subscription account. Looks like they are carrying all the sessions there.

Alabama Speed on Full Display on Day Two of the Women’s NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships
The Crimson Tide posted five top-10 finishes and set three school records during the second day of competition at the national
The Alabama women's swimming and diving team broke three school records and posted five top-10 finishes, including a silver medal in the final event of the night, on day two of the NCAA Championships being held in Atlanta at the McAuley Aquatic Center this week.
The Crimson Tide finished day two of the four-day championships in fourth place with 120 points, just eight points out of second place.
Four Alabama women scored in individual events and the night closed with the Tide laying down a blistering school-record 1:25.47 to take second in the 200 freestyle relay, nearly a second ahead of the rest of the field.
Kalia Antoniou started the Tide's 200 freestyle relay off with a career-best 21.64 in the leadoff leg, with Morgan Scott, Kailyn Winter and Cora Dupre staying right with eventual champs Virginia. The Tide's quartet moved up four places from last year's NCAA finish in the 200 free relay and shaved nearly a second off the previous school mark.
Scott, Dupre and Antoniou all scored in the 50 freestyle, with Scott taking fourth in finals with a school record 21.43 and Dupre taking fifth with a 21.47, matching her then-school record mark from prelims. Antoniou took second in the B final and 10th overall with a time of 21.73. No member of the UA women's team had broken 21.50 before this weekend. Both Scott and Dupre swam the 50 at last year's NCAA Championships, but didn't make the top-16, while both made the championship final in 2022.
After finishing 10th in the 500 freestyle at last year's NCAAs, Kensey McMahon moved into the championship final this season, taking seventh place with a time of 4:40.06.
Alabama Head Coach Margo Geer Said
"It was a great day for the Crimson Tide, with big individual performances for Kensey, Morgan, Cora and Kalia tonight. We're very proud of the way they competed and found ways to get better tonight. It was great to end the session with our 200 free relay. Those girls came together for our fastest performance in school history and a strong second-place finish! Overall, it was an exciting day with three school records and a lot of energy to get us rolling for tomorrow."

My man alabamafan gave you the info for watching via the ocho. I normally follow the "live results" website when I'm not around wifi. I live in the sticks, so streaming data just doesn't happen reliably. LINK to the results, they post events as soon as they're completed.

So tonight we had rhyan white take 10th place in the 100 butterfly, and 4th in the 100 backstroke. Top 2 both went under the American and ncaa record
Avery Wiseman won consolation finals, 9th, in the 100 breaststroke. Top finishing freshman, so that's cool. We still have the 400 medley relay left, seeded 6th... and we have slipped down to 5th place overall. 3m diving is going on right now, and we have no dog in that fight, so I'm doing the update now.
400 medley relay finished 6th, still sitting on 5th place overall. Tomorrow is the last day, and we're looking at having scorers in 4 of the 5 individual events... possibly multiple in the 100 freestyle, and seeded 6th again in tomorrow's relay. Our lone diving qualifier competes tomorrow, so hoping she can add some points in the 10m platform. Gonna need some big breaks to catch nc state, or major screw ups to be passed by Berkeley.

Wiseman won the B final of the 100 breaststroke, taking ninth overall, with a time of 58.19.

We're so proud of the way Rhyan and Avery competed tonight and then for to come back with Morgan and Cora to make another podium finish in the 400 medley relay was great to see. Tomorrow we've got a lot of opportunities for second swims and we're excited to see Tanesha (Lucoe) step up in the platform. We're looking to come out strong in the morning and set ourselves up for a big final night."

Kensey mcmahon getting 3rd in the 1650
just a few seconds off her school record. Actually has us tied for 4th now. Getting 0 diving points this year, but maybe that'll lead to a getting a good coach who will stick around for a while.
Rhyan White also scoring 3rd in 200 back. We've dropped back to 5th though
nc state had 2 woman swimming the event. Really hard to concentrate on a big meet like world's and have another big meet 3 momths later. Doesn't do your training cycle any real favors... but a great career for her. She's officially done with individual events.
Morgan Scott wrapping up her career as well, 2nd place in the 100 free, and lowering the school record from this morning. Cora Dupre was 4th, also below the previous school record. We beat both trannies who were swimming in the finals, because that's important to some folks. Kalia Antoniou, also wrapping up her career, finished 15th. Our 400 free relay is looking stronger than our #6 seed.
Avery Wiseman finished 6th in 200 breast, lowering her school record from prelims today. We've actually jumped back to 4th, but we have no participants in 200 butterfly... and nc state has one in consolation finals. At absolute worst we're gonna be down only 2 points going into the relay. We'd have to beat nc state to tie in that scenario. Beating them by more than 1 place is a guaranteed solo 4th place. There is no scenario that would bump us down to 6th, so we're playing with house money on this relay. Oh yeah, should mention we're defending champs in this relay.

Relay ended up finishing 3rd. Nc state girl go last in consolation finals in the 2 fly, and we beat them in the relay. Finished 4th
I'd also like y'all to take a moment and see if a certain in-state school scored a single point
Rough year for their new coach, but i think they were shutout last year too. I actually like Wacho, so I feel bad trashing them too hard in his first season.
