Definitely need a big now. Hopefully a stud. Someone with an offensive game would be devastating down low.

You add Reese's and Davis stats together that's 15 points, 9 rebs, in 36 minutes a game. That's not great but it's not terrible.
Tell me why you should waste 2 scholarships for that type of production?

Would we be excited about Singleton? I mean I’m sure I’d convince myself he would be an asset but it doesn’t look like he can shoot and I would just have Algie Key flashbacks.

I agree that we need a big Ive been advocating for Hayden Koval since he transferred. I can only tag Oats in posts involving him so many times lol.

Who is Singleton?
6’6 PG from Hutchinson CC. Averaged 11 points, 7 reb, and 5 assists last season and ranked #22 among JUCO players. He’s a Herb Jones clone with better passing skills. He had two triple doubles last December. Only downside to him is he doesn’t shoot 3’s (only attempted 1 all season) and is about 60% from the FT line. He would be incredible versatile though like Herb is. Very good defender as well.

I was all in on Oats, my only concern was his recruiting. Within 1 years time, he’s brought in two 5-Stars (Quinerly & Primo). That concern has now been put to rest. CAN NOT WAIT to see Quinerly-Shackelford-Primo backcourt next season. My word.....oh baby
I also thought Oats hit a homerun with Beetle. (I loved him, but I know most didn’t). Compared to Avery’s transfers (Giddens, Avery Jr, Ar’Mond, Nick King, etc.), I thought Beetle was an asset.
In 1-Year..
Jahvon Quinerly - 5-Star
Josh Primo - 5-Star
Beetle Bolden - Good Player
Raymond Hawkins - Fail
James Rojas - Highly Ranked JuCo
Keon Ambrose-Hylton - 4-Star
^ That’s every bit as good as Avery did and then some.

Thanks.
I know that Forbes had a lot of trouble with getting ball stripped from him, being in right position on defense and his shooting wasn't good.
However, he does have a nice looking 3pt stroke and is a good athlete/rebounder that put 100% effort into defense. I'm not sold he can't develop into a solid 20 minute a game depth option but certainly don't think I know as much as Oats.

He had 5 games last year with over 10 rebounds, 2 games with over 10 assists, also a good defensive player. He is good at everything aside from shooting.

Once Ellis and Singleton hop on board, I see Forbes leaving.
I am kind of worried about Iowa State with Ellis, they lose all their good guards aside from Rasir Bolton. I think Ellis could go there and start from day one, whereas at Alabama I think he would probably be the first guard off the bench.
I still think he would get a lot of minutes here, probably 28+ a game. Hopefully since we were his first good offer that means something. Does sound like playing time is a big factor with him though.

He’s a carbon copy of Herb Jones. Teams need multiple guys like him that can play multiple positions and play good defense. He will be a role player and would backup JQ so he is quality depth at the PG position that this team needed this past year. And he’s 6’6. He’s a matchup problem at the PG position.

I wouldn’t worry about Ellis honestly. He has a great relationship with the Bama staff.

Yeah, you aren't gonna find many point guards in better conditioned than Kira and even he got worn down at the end of games playing 38 - 40 minutes a game in this fast paced offense. Quinerly is probably gonna need to be around 34 minutes tops.
Oats didn't play his guards a crazy amount of minutes at Buffalo, his last year there Jeremy Harris played 34 and CJ Massinburg played 33, that's ideally what he would like. We just had so little depth last year guards were having to play close to 40.
Singleton would be a very good backup PG and he could play about any other position 1-4.
