You replied in the recruiting thread to a post about a player not having us in his top schools asking why we can't get over the hump. I assumed you were referencing the players recruitment.

Josh Primos team's end of the season conference tournament is March 20th - 23rd, it's gonna be live streamed on Youtube. He may be waiting til it's over to commit. I would expect him to commit to us or Creighton soon after that, if not beforehand, unless some other school enters the picture late or something.

Coach firings have started, coach firings a lot of time = transfers. Air Force's, James Madisons and Wyomings coach have been fired today.

James Madison has a grad transfer candidate guard named Matt Lewis, he is averaging 18 points, 6 rebounds, 3 assists per game.

Wyoming has Hunter Maldanado who is a 6'7 guard and a grad transfer candidate. He averaged 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists per game this season.

One thing that really helps us with Primo is that Creighton returns their top 6 guards next year. Their three guards that start and all average over 30 minutes a game will all be back.

Definitely a clearer path for him to get more PT at Bama we are short on guards and need them bad.

If you don't already know it, Buzz Williams is going to be a real pain in the arse to deal with. I wish he'd target LSU recruits more.

You’re right. He’s a hell of a coach and is going to have tough teams

No doubt in my mind we’ll find plenty of players better than Reese/Galin to replace them with

Corey Evans, bball guy from Rivals did a Q and A mailbag about an hour ago and was asked about Josh Primo.

quote:

Josh Primo attracted a plethora of talk last month thanks to his tremendous play at the Basketball Without Borders Global Camp over All-Star Weekend in Chicago, and his decision to reclassify into the 2020 class just a few days later. A commitment is next with the two schools most connected with him are Alabama and Creighton. Both dispatched coaches to one of his games last week but the Tide, a school that boasts the commitment of fellow Canadian forward Keon Ambrose-Hylton, could be the team to beat. Expect for a decision in the coming weeks with Alabama sitting in the best spot

I know some Bama fans think that because he hasn’t committed yet thats a sign he is going to Creighton, but with him and Ambrose being really good friends, they visited here together, and with Creighton returning literally all their good players next year and us needing guards badly to come in and play right away, Id still say we lead by a lot over Creighton.

Is it possible Primo hasn’t committed because we don’t officially have a spot yet? Technically, we’re losing Beetle, and Ambrose-Hylton is taking his spot. It’s a bad look to take a commitment which would pretty much signify someone on the team playing right now will be cut. I think you gotta wait until the seasons over and Oats officially cuts Reese, Galin, and Hawkins.

Primo basically committed to us when he reclassified to 2020. Our main competition Creighton did not need him to reclassify, if they are returning so many of their top players at his position. Makes sense that he is in a holding position till cleared to sign with us.
