JD Davison has breakout season, five schools prioritizing him

quote:

Buzz has been building around Davison throughout his junior season, and he moved up to No. 19 overall in the 247Sports Composite Rankings and No. 15 in the Top247 after averaging more than 30 points a game.

College attention is picking up too. Alabama head coach Nate Oats was at the state title game, as was Memphis assistant Mike Miller and Auburn assistant Wes Flanigan.

“It’s coming along,” Davison said of his recruitment. “Everything is just coming to me, and I’m going to let things fall into place.”

quote:

Davison said the schools that have prioritized him are Alabama, Auburn, Memphis, Mississippi State and Ole Miss. All five of those schools have offered scholarships, as have Iowa State, Virginia Tech, St. Louis and UNLV.

Davison has taken a handful of college visits, including a recent trip to Auburn when they knocked off Kentucky at home.

“It was great,” Davison said. “They won, and the fans were there and it felt like home. It was great.”

Prior to the season, Davison took his first official visit to Alabama the weekend of Sept. 20.

“It was great,” Davison said. “It was a good experience. It also felt like home. It was great.”

I really hope we get Keon Ellis. He'd be our most athletic player plus he's shooting 43% from three.

I wish we would go after Marial Mading. Would fit what we do perfectly.

Mading does look like he would be a good fit, he is basically a 6'11 guard. Has offers from Kansas and Florida it looks like.

I want Keon Ellis but for the most part I'd rather hit the transfer portal than the Juco ranks. Look at all the good players who were in the portal after last season

four former 5 star guards

two former 5 star bigs

A bunch of good centers.

50+ former four and five star players.

We did pretty good with the portal last year getting Quinerly and Beetle. I bet we get another couple of good players our of it again this year.

Not sure if the NCAA rule passes non grad transfers will have to sit out a year in this class or not, that's something to keep an eye on too.

Well you aren’t seeing many in there for this year yet because Most players enter it after the season and the season isn’t over yet. I was showing how many good ones were available after last season.

Chipola has a helluva Juco team. If you notice, there’s at least 3 of their players in there. Not far from me in Marianna.

I think Shawndarius Cowart at Pensacola State College is pretty good too. Lots of talent in the Panhandle Conference.

Louisville just offered five-star guard JD Davison, i’m told. The 2021 guard is one of the classes top scorers. The Cardinals recently parted ways with Zion Harmon.
