Hopefully he gets more meaningful minutes in competitive games but maybe the other guards are just better

I only watched 1st quarter but the other Guards looked pretty sloppy

I was only able to catch about ten minutes total. It looked like a random pickup game with everyone playing iso hero ball while I watched.

The lone non-Pac 12 school on the list, the Crimson Tide would have to make a special appeal to get him to play in the SEC. And they just might with new head coach Nate Oats, who was able to convince the majority of the roster to remain for at least another season. If the Crimson Tide do well this upcoming season, expect them to get the attention of a lot of top-50 prospects.

Coach Oats has done well with past wing players, with the most notable example being Jeremy Harris, who averaged 14.0 ppg and 6.2 rpg last season at Buffalo. The former Bulls coach developed lesser talented recruits into quality college basketball players so giving him five-star talents such as Beauchamp could easily take Alabama to the next level.

But there are questions about how the roster will look for the 2020-21 season, with a ton of guards and wings around 6’5-6’7 size. That includes possible seniors John Petty and Herb Jones, along with four-star newcomers Juwan Gary, Jaylen Forbes, and JUCO transfer James Rojas. There’s no question that Beauchamp will get minutes regardless but the lack of clarity of who he’ll be playing with could be a concern, along with one of these guys emerging into a star as well.

My thoughts as well. Also- Number 6 was taking the ball up a lot when Kira was in so he didn't get as many touches as he probably wanted.

On the recruiting front, Green, who currently ranks as the No. 3 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, said he’s being prioritized by Kentucky, Memphis, Florida State, Oregon, Alabama and California. Kentucky, California and Alabama have had assistants in Greece watching him.

Green has already taken official visits to Florida State (Nov. 16) and Memphis (Sept. 13). What’s next on the visit docket? “I’m planning on going to Oregon, try to get that one in, Alabama too.” Green said. “There’s a couple more, I forgot which ones.”

Dior Johnson tweeted a photoshop of himself in a Bama Jersey earlier. 2022 PG prospect, went to the same school Raymond Hawkins went to, Findlay prep.

He is probably gonna be a 5 star, highly rated 4 star at worst, cinch to be a top 50 recruit. Love that we are getting in on him early, the big bball schools haven't offered him yet.

Q&A WITH KIRA LEWIS

How has this experience been for you?

It was a long process, but the trials were good. Playing against some of the top players in the country, guys in high school, guys coming to college, guys that have already played a year in college. Being out here in Greece was good, just learning from different players and how they approach the game.

What have you learned the most or what’s the one thing you’ll take away from this?

Just playing a role, because with all of these great talents, you might not be the man like you were on your normal team. So playing roles, going out there and valuing your minutes.

You had a good freshman season, but in what ways are you better now then you were during the season?

I have more experience. I’ve got the summer this year so I can watch film, my reads and just preparing my body for the long season, and just staying in shape.

When you get back, what’s your focal point?

My focal point is to get stronger, watch film, watching guys that I want to imitate my game after, get a great relationship with coach Oats and the teammates as well.

You have a new coach, how has that been, and how have your conversations been with coach Oats?

He’s a great guy. It was a really good relationship from day one. He’s a guy that keeps it real with you. No messing around, he likes to get his stuff done and get out of there. Just a hardworking coach.

What led you to going back there?

Just relationships. I feel like the first day I met coach Oats, I could trust him. The way they played and the history at Buffalo, he’s winning, and the guys had a different vibe when he came around, so I just feel like it was the right fit.

What does it mean to you that coach Hodgson is here?

It means a lot. I just met him like two months ago and for him to come all the way to Greece after a busy schedule and then he has to go straight to Peach Jam, so it means a lot.

This coming season, how do you think you can be different for that team?

Being more of a leader, being more vocal, helping guys coming in that have tough time like times I did, just being more mature.

What are your expectations for the season?

My expectation is to make the NCAA tournament and get as far as we can.

Alabama's new strength coach is intense: Mike Snowden, a military veteran who served on President Obama's Helicopter Squadron staff, has instilled his blue-collar identity into the team since following Oats from Buffalo this offseason.
