Notice that Reese is on the court and Galin Smith is on the sideline, I think we see a lot of this, this season.
I kid, I kid.
I kid, I kid.

I see your bait, and I’ll raise you a “Reese is wearing the same jersey color as Kira.”

Hodgson is a damn tank. He looks like he could be the bad guy in a Rocky movie.

General Zod on steroids.

Ya’ll think Kira and Petty have a good enough year to turn pro for real? Would love to have them both around in two years, we would have a chance to be REALLY good in 2020 if they both came back. Then again if they have good enough years this year to be taken in the draft that would probably mean we would have a really good 2019.
I think this will probably be both of their last years here, hopefully that means they live up to their potential this season and tear it up.

Not to be a Debbie downer but Nate went 20-15 and 17-15 his first 2 seasons at Buffalo with a roster he helped recruit. I’m cautiously optimistic too and hope to make the Dance but I think a similar record to his first season in Buffalo (20-15) is very realistic and quite probable. I wouldn’t go buying Final Four tickets just yet. There will be growing pains.

His first two years you at Buffalo you referenced they didn't have one top 100 recruit and he still made the tourney there his first year. He also has four more years college head coaching experience than he had his first year at Buffalo. Totally different situations, and not very comparable imo.
I don't think anyone is buying final 4 tickets, yes there will be growing pains, but we return most of our best players off last years team that was the first team out of the NCAAT. We add 4 top 100 recruits, a former top 40 Player in Quinerly, maybe the best grad transfer PG available in Bolden, and a top Juco player in Rojas. Plus Oats is on another level as a coach then Avery Johnson was. Plenty of reasons to be excited about this season.

Hey I’m totally excited and I hope I’ve grossly underestimated this team.
My fear is when we struggle at times, as we inevitably will with new everything, some people will turn on the team and on Oats.
I’m just trying to be patient if we’re not world beaters in year 1. I’m setting my personal expectations at the 20+ wins mark and a tourney bid so anything exceeding that is just a cherry on top.

If we get 20 wins, I'd be ecstatic

We largely underachieved last year and got 18 wins. SEC was stacked too, and we had a pretty tough OOC schedule.

I don't think you're being as patient as you think you are.
20+ wins and a tourney bid.
We've won 20+ games once in the last 6 years and made the tourney twice in the last 8 years.
Piss on the past though. I've already gone full Gump anticipating a 25-9 type record with us trailing Duke by 2 with 1:31 left in a Sweet 16 game.

Goodness, when is the last time that happened?

I really hope we can avoid the late season collapses we have has the past few years, and I think we can, I think those were mainly due to lack of conditioning and coaching.
Each of the last two years we have closed out the regular season going 2 and 6.
Having a coach who was still starting a different lineup most every game even in April didn't help matters.
Never seen a college coach tweak the starting lineup and rotation more than Avery Johnson did, no wonder the team never looked comfortable on offense.

Quit being so damn negative. We'll run Duke out of the gym
