Texas Tech will probably get Kentucky, Tennessee or Auburn or someone whose had a lot of success recently. I feel like with us just playing OU and Texas we wouldn’t get them again. That leaves TCU and Ok State. It’d be nice to get back at Ok State for that beatdown in bham several years ago but TCU is a rising team so I’d orobabky prefer that.

Side note- imagine if we’d kept Avery and played Tech. We might not break 20 points. Talk about a coaching mismatch ??

Imma guess TCU or Ok State in Coleman. I just hope whoever it is they are good and would help our resume.

TCU was 23-15 and made the NIT last year. Oklahoma State was 12-20 last year. I kinda hope we get a better opponent than that. I’d be ok with TCU I guess but definitely not Oklahoma St

Last years Conference Schedule got announce June 6th. So we are probably 2 weeks away from that being released.

The SEC/Big12 were announced on May 25th so it should be any day now.

Bobby Hurley quote I saw today talking about Nate Oats,

“Any power conference (program) would be thrilled to have him,” Hurley says. “He’s proven he can win championships. He’s won in the NCAA Tournament. He’s not afraid of the moment in big games. He’s the whole package.”

I’m starting to think Mack isn’t coming back. Our new guys arrive today and I think the team usually meets on this day as well, and Mack still hasn’t withdrawn from the draft. Makes me think he’s using this time to figure out whether he wants to transfer or go overseas

This article doesn’t sound too positive when it comes to Coleman’s renovation

No fricking reason Football or Softball renovations should come before Coleman. If pisses me off

We might not even get a renovation at the rate the funding is going. If we do, it’ll be like 10 years from now. And then to top it all off in that article, Greg Byrne has to throw in there that he still isn’t even considering a new arena. I love how much we put off basketball’s needs but then complain that we aren’t good in basketball.

This is EXACTLY why as soon as Tom Izzo retires, Oats will hightail it out of here and head to Michigan State. No reason to stay at a school that only cares about football and won’t give you what you need

The Boosters and Donors only give a shite about Football,Softball, and Gymnastics.

Its honestly sad, Zero Home court advantage right now.

What’s sad to me is for some reason this university seems to care about every sport BUT basketball. It’s like they know basketball is a sleeping giant and can be a threat to football, so they purposely make sure it doesn’t get the funding it needs

Wimp has went on WJOX numerous times and alluded to that. They wouldnt let him do some stuff because it would take the attention off of Football

no need to melt at the moment

We have an excellent practice facility and I’m sure an unlimited recruiting budget. Yeah the arena sucks in regards to a true home court advantage, but we aren’t sisters of the poor out here just not giving a shite.

And I try my best not to get mad at Byrne, bc I know Saban runs the whole university and what they do, but I always heard Byrne is a “basketball guy” yet he can’t get anything done soon about the arena issue

I’m already in a mini-melt

It just makes me sick knowing that we’ve needed a new arena for awhile now and we aren’t getting anything for many more years

Hopefully rich folks keep donating and renovations can happen after the 2021-2022 season which was the original best case scenario when they announced it.

Ive said it before...the only guy who can get us a new Arena is Nick Saban. Byrne needs to get him to talk about how an awesome BBall environment helps FBall recruitng.

My guess is we get a renovation, but not the one we need and at half the cost projected.

I understand why Football is included in this initiative (so the rich FOG will donate), but it’s still absurd to think BD is getting as much money poured into it as it is and getting the first renovation before a dime is spent on Coleman. Byrne should have put both in “Phase 1” to appease donors mentioning football first, but actually starting on Coleman first. Crazy to think we may still be close to 8-10 years out from a renovation when it’s needed a big one since the 90s.
