I just don't quite understand how you can HATE Frank Martin. I mean, I just don't get it.

It's pretty funny how earlier in the year a lot of the LSU and Auburn folks were laughing at KenPom and how wrong it was for ranking them around 30-40.........and wouldn't you know it, that's about what they are.

My biggest criticism of Oats and the team this year is our defense. It’s absolutely atrocious. Teams have too good of a shooting percentage against us and we foul way too much. I suppose that’s a function of being a doughnut with a hole in the middle. But it’s got to improve if we are to take the next step next season.

4 of our 6 worst defensive efficiency games per KenPom were when Herb was either playing very limited minutes or out entirely (Arkansas, @ Georgia, @ Auburn, LSU). A fifth was @ State when we played without Petty. The other one was against Iowa State in the Bahamas.
I think we have some individuals who are not great defenders (Kira, Shack, Reese) and so losing guys like Petty and Herb is doubly bad because they cover a lot of errors.

They just said on the broadcast that it has been something like 15 years since an 8-8 SEC team was left out.
But being a lifelong Bama basketball fan I have the dreadful ingrained expectation that this is the year the NCAA committee says 'hold my beer'
