I can’t wait for us to win our next 3 games, get sucked back in, and then blow it at home to Vandy

Yeah, ok. Shack plays hard too.

Sucked in to what? It doesn’t matter if we run the table now. This is a Bubble buster. The only hope we have is winning the SEC tourney. God help us if we draw Vandy in the opening game. We’d be better off against Kentucky.

We have no realistic shot to make the tournament outside if winning the SECT at this point.
You'll only get sucked back in if you create a narrative in your head that beating Ole Miss, State and South Carolina matters at all.

The most crucial rebound of the game Both Petty and Reese had positioning and they LET ONE OF A&M GUARDS GET IT!!! fricking SAWFT

I know I know. ‘Twas Making a Joke George. I’m hurting right now. February is awful the worst month of my year.

Wasn’t able to watch tonight, had an awful feeling this would happen to begin with. I didn’t even bother checking in on the score.
I really don’t know what to say, think, or feel about Alabama basketball anymore. What reasonable expectation should any of us have that this program will ever be anything other than this unexceptional, average, mundane, just-not-quite-good-enough product we see year after year after year after year?
I do think Oats is a better basketball coach than any Bama has had in a long while, but that apparently doesn’t mean a damn thing for this God-forsaken, snake-bitten program. He’ll probably get fired in 5 years for basically the same career as Grant and Avery, then go to the Final Four with his next school.

It’s Coleman Voodoo. Until we bulldoze it and build a new building we are CURSED

I don't think you can judge him based on this season and say "he is just like the other coaches" who have been close but not made the tournament when he was dealt such an unlucky hand and the towards the end the other coaches were playing with cards they had hand picked
Not saying you in general because that's the natural thing to do and even my mind has wandered there but we have to give him time to get it turned around and I think he will.

So I don't have a strong opinion on this one way or the other, and I'm just kind of searching for answers to the question of why we are so fricking pathetic, but is it possible that Alabama and Mississippi just have a tendency to produce basketball players who are largely incapable of playing with any degree of mental toughness?

We don't match up well with teams like Tennessee and Texas A&M who play tough. It's safe to say our bigs aren't SEC caliber and Oats didn't recruit them so I can't put that on him. He did recruit Rojas who would've been probably our toughest player but we all know what happened with him.
Avery babied our players as well which is one of the main problems. Oats number 1 thing is to play with toughness, it's the reason we have the hardhat. We aren't cursed, we won't always suck. He's just not a magician.

To be fair, after we beat Florida and LSU B2B in Avery’s 1st year we were saying the same shite. Look , I think Oats is a good coach and will get us there but I’m not making any more predictions until I actually see it

How many injuries did we have those years? To act like it's the same situation is ridiculous. 3 guys who would've probably been starters are on the bench unable to play and Herb is playing with a cast on his dominant hand.
This year is a very different situation and to blame the coach and say that it's all the same as the other years is also ridiculous.

Before Reese last minute 3 Him,Javian, and Galin combined for 3 points. Javian only played 5 minutes. Reese has gotta man the frick up and get his shot fixed. If he doesn’t he is useless

All the excuses are exactly that....EXCUSES. I’m done getting hyped up about the future until I see it done.

I think we are all in agreement that our bigs are terrible.
Rojas would've likely been a big upgrade any of them in rebounding and toughness. If Oats hadn't went out and recruited anyone to solve the problem I could see blaming him but he did, the guy he recruited just got injured before the season.

I agree. I don’t give a rats arse any longer about WHY Alabama Basketball can’t have good things. They’re all just excuses at this point.
I think I’ve finally learned to just expect meh-ness and be pleasantly surprised if it ever gets better.

Excuses are one of the problems with the program. If you look hard enough, you can make excuses for anything. Excuses are weak
