I still want to know where Petty was today! If he even half-arse contributes his normal stat line, we cruise with no problems. Instead, he’s MIA and it got dicey near the end. I’m not bitching, the guy has had a phenomenal year but it’s crunch time and we need his contribution to keep the dream alive.

Yup both Herb and Oats mentioned that. Oats said it was not an anomaly but Heb actually worked hard at it.

An extra good thing about Oats is his mathematics/statistics awareness.
You can laugh at stats, but that's a undervalued weapon we have.

He's pretty great at using stats and analytics to help him make decisions on how to play/style/planning while also being a real basketball guy who coaches and teaches fundamentals.
That's a fantastic combo to have.

Yeah, coaches who use statistics and Advance metrics are usually pretty good....... unless you are Gabe Kapler

I miss Gabe already. I was at all the games of that opening series 2 years ago when he made 700 pitching changes

His first Game Nola was dominating the Braves and he pulled him after like 5 innings and 60 pitches and they ended up blowing it

I don't follow baseball enough to know what you're talking about. I mean baseball is a lot about statistics, righty / lefty, bunt the guy over, etc. Outfield shifts
