Proud of the guys. They fought and came up short, but at least we didn’t give up

Herb Jones +13 in 7 minutes of play. Davis fouled out in 12 minutes of play and 0 points.

Actually worried that back to back OT games is going to hurt us this Saturday.

We'll see

LSU doesn't exactly show up ready to play every night. When they do they are a load.

Kira had more fantasy points than any other player in the country tonight, even Wiley, who I stupidly sat.

I’m not sure how anyone can be melting after tonight. I hate moral victories, but tonight feels pretty good. Gives me tons of hope for the future. We just need one or two bigs with a pulse and we would have won this game

Same. Either he is a troll fan or just is clueless about basketball. I assume troll.

I don't think people realize that Oats offense has an supplemental playbook in which bigs fake the high screen and dive to the basket. If you watch his Buffalo teams they ran that stuff at least 10-20% of possessions to keep teams honest when defending the high pick play that starts the offense. That then opens up guards to truly be able to get downhill to the rim without a horde of defenders waiting on them.

We can't run any of that stuff right now because we don't have bigs we trust to catch the ball and finish. We do it a little with Javian, and did it some with Herb against smaller lineups, but it's almost non-existent.

Can't melt at all. Zero inside presence + average ball handlers is a recipe for disaster. Throw in playing only seven scholarship players, and you've got a uphill battle.

Still, they did what they had to do and never checked out mentally. The plethora of threes was literally their only option. Galin, Reese, and JD got man handled all night. Our guards aren't good enough to create their own shot and beat defenders one on one. Glad Oats gave them the green light to shoot it from deep as much as they did.

I wish we could get a big like he had at Buffalo the last 4 seasons Nick Perkins was a beast. 6'8 240 and shot 38% from three. He makes all of our bigs look horrible. You're right Oats ideally wants to have a good big, and that will help us tremendously. We aren't able to play how he wants yet. I'm sure he is looking for one to fit his system.

Serious question. What was Avery going to do with this years team? I honestly have no idea

I’m not trying to be a smartass. This is a honest basketball question

Likely win less than double digits. Kira and Petty would have transferred; Javian Davis wouldn't have put in the effort to get in shape; and likely no progression throughout the season from any other player.

Wouldn't have been a very good team, that's for sure.

A lot of 1-on-1 with Kira and kick outs for 3s by Shack and Petty I'd assume (assuming they were here). Herb would still be awful on offense without a purpose.
