Yeah I'm not getting my hopes up for that.

Auburn winning by 20+ will get this thread back in the right mindset.

I mean if we were hot from three it wouldn't be crazy...

If we can keep it within 20 I'll consider that a win. They are gonna try their best to murder us.

Y’all have no idea how much I want to be wrong about this season. Very few of ya’ll know the heartbreak I’ve suffered since 86 because Bama basketball. I mean we lost one of our best coaches in program history because he slapped a damn secretary (who does that). David Hobbs, who could recruit extremely well, but couldn’t coach. Mike, who started enjoying coeds wayyyyy too much. Thought Grant was the perfect get for us and would lead us to the sweet 16 regularly (He mentally checked out for some reason). Avery who was a used car salesman and I bought in.

I wonder how things would've worked out if we had kept Grant a few more years. He seemed to be pretty lost when he was at Alabama and seemed to be learning on the job, he seems to have it figured out a lot better now.
I'm glad things worked out the way they did personally, I think Oats is the coach to finally get it turned back around.

He was mentally done at Bama. Battle was going to keep him and Grant wanted out. I don’t know what soured him, but he was done.

Having a useless AD like Battle may have been part of it.

Battle said he met with Grant after the team went 3-5 against SEC competition in January. Battle suggested making announcement saying Grant would return for next season. Grant said they should hold off on any such proclamation at that point.
Grant, Battle said, wanted to let the season play out and address the situation after the year. The vote of confidence was Battle's plan to stop the unrest over the program's path.
"I felt like if I said something early ... the people who are going to be negative are going to stay negative, but there were a lot of people that really think a lot of Anthony and think a lot of the program," Battle told Finebaum's audience.
From there, injuries contributed to further struggles.
"The fan base got more negative and more negative," Battle said. "At some point, when the negativity is as great as it is, you can't recruit. And if you can't recruit, you're not going to win anyway and it becomes a matter of time. And at the end, that's where I felt like we were and I think Anthony agreed with me."

I think some guys are better suited for high mid major ball. He's at an elite mid major and seems comfortable.
He's a damn good man and I'm really happy for him. I think all of us are.

Beating a dead horse here, but when you are trying to bring top kids in with old facilities, it’s an uphill battle for coaches. It’s frustrating
Before anyone says, “it’s the Indians...blah blah blah” Try finding good Indians who want to stay in a shitty TP, when they are getting offers to be in top notch TPs

Forgive the negativity but the formula to beat Bama: keep it close and put Kira on the line.
I know, I know no way we win without him today and he really nutted up and shouldered the team scoring-wise, but damn, at some point you’ve got to be clutch. It’s not like he’s a 50% free throw shooter. He almost cost us the game.
