The thing I find the most interesting between Avery's last year and Oat's first year so far is the non-steal TO%.

Although the turnovers are higher under Oats currently (expected with a change in pace/style). Your team is playing cleaner in regards to less unforced Turnovers. IMO as a fan I can live with giving up a steal because you are playing fast and aggressive but the most frustrating thing is watching a player throw it out of bounds with no pressure or something that was totally unforced.

We're still figuring out the turnover stuff, but it's been much better recently. There isn't a whole lot of time to do the type of dribble it off your leg slip and fall on a banana peel turnover stuff we did under Avery.

LOL, I mean Stetson is horrendous

- #331 on KenPom
- 3-9 vs D1 teams
- lost by 27 to VMI
- lost by 24 to IUPFW
- lost by 16 to FIU
- Wins over #303 Western Illinois by 2, #228 Monmouth by 8 and #276 Bethune Cookman by 5

Holy shite

Frank Martin is a lunatic so I’m happy he had another one of these type games.

Stetson is one of the 25 worst teams in college basketball per KenPom. #331 out of #353.

Norfolk State was #244 last year
South Florida was #191 in 2014
Tulane was #146 in 2013
Saint Peter's was #137 in 2011
Mercer was #218 in 2009

Those are our worst OOC losses of the decade

I had to add "OOC" because we also had losses to #150+ ranked teams in the league in there (cough Auburn cough).

South Carolina beat a top 10 Virginia team by double digits a week ago. The Gamecocks just followed that up with a seven-point home loss to a 5-9 Stetson team. That’s something.

Another cool stat is that we are 3rd in the country in three pointers made per game.

Straight up giddy about a roster full of upperclassmen who were Oats’ recruits

This is the most pleasing aspect of the season to me. Hope I don't jinx him but Seeing Petty successful and reaching his potential is so satisfying.
Just couldn't figure out why he was missing so many shots for the past two years.
His hard work and whatever spell he was under seems to have dissipated.
His shooting now is so clean and accurate. Keep up John.

I thought Petty improved during the season last year also.

Beetle Bolden has also played noticeably better. He's starting to find his way through traffic and isn't having as many careless turnovers.

Yeah, it got lost a bit in the overall malaise of the team as a whole down the stretch but from around the middle of conference play, Petty was a different player in terms of hustle plays and energy level.

I like Beetle for the most part but dang he does some really stupid stuff that has me wondering how in the world he lasted with Bob Huggins for that long without being murdered.

Yeah, Beetle is taking to Oats' policy of freedom on the offensive end like Spring Breakers take to an open bar.

Nice thread on twitter of a guy breaking down some of the solid action Oats has the team running.
