It kind of does if you are being paid for what you say.

You're right. I thought we were talking about Avery being on the payroll and Saban and Bear wanting to keep him for that fact.

You guys realize he's just a troll right? He's basically dd4bama, if it's not actually the same guy. He doesn't believe what he says. He just spouts nonsense to drum up conversation.

If someone doesn’t like Oats’ style of play they are automatically a troll now?

Looks like Iowa State is a 2.5 point favorite right now.

Gonna get a win today. Might seem like a stretch, but still believe this team could get in the NCAAT if they continue to get better. We need Forbes and Shack to get better defensively and get JD more involved.

I’d like to see us force the ball inside to Davis a few times and let him go to work.

Same. He's got good footwork for a big man and is the only guy I trust to finish around the rim. He can help take the pressure off Kira.

UA/ISU notes:

•Great PG matchup-Kira v Halliburton*teammates on USA U19 gold metal team

•ISU HC Steve Prohm was a mngr. @ UA for David Hobbs & now Hobbs is an asst. for Prohm @ ISU

I’ll feel a lot better if we leave today with a 3-3 record with wins over Furman and Iowa State. Then maybe add another win to the resume tomorrow

North Carolina gets the win against Alabama. The difference was simple: Tide outrebounded by 29 and gave up 23 second chance points. Next up is two more games in Atlantis and then SFA, Penn St, Samford, Belmont, and Richmond. Not a fun non-conference slate for Nate Oats’ team.

It seems to me that Petty has played much more within himself the past couple of games. His drives to the basket have been more under control, and he's played more to his strength which is spotting up. I honestly think he's our second best player behind Kira.

If Oats can get Herb to slow down and collect himself just slightly after he gets in the lane, we'll be getting somewhere. If Herb would just go up strong, with his 15 ft wingspan, very few people could do anything except foul him.

He’s not turning the ball over much anymore either which is HUGE

John Petty shot 57% (12/22) from the field and 60% (10/16) from 3-point range over the last two games.

Also, only 2 turnovers in his last 40 minutes of basketball.

Herb just needs to try to dunk the ball when he gets in close. As you noted, he’s got a long wingspan and he can jump. I feel like going up strong would at least get to the line whereas these up and under layups just aren’t working.

He needs that dog in him that Senario Hillman had when attackong the rim.

Herb looks like a man-among-boys potential NBA All-Star going to rim but just doesn't finish.

Seems he's often just a step a ahead of himself timing wise. . . about 1 foot short of where he wants to be for an easy finish.

People may laugh but there's not many players with the physical tools he exhibits. It would not shock me to see him be the type player that blooms late in the NBA developmental league.

I hope it happens while it's still here.
