They still knew where he would go with the ball when he saw that blitz, he threw it exactly where they wanted him to, and they picked it off. That’s baiting him into throwing that from watching film all year

Edit. I see what you two are saying, it was a bad throw by Tua. I just think it was more a great play by the defense from knowing Tua’s tendencies

I agree. The throw would never have been made had they not disguised their coverage and had him thinking one thing when they were actually doing another

I still don't think that's at all what happened.

Their D definitely played a great game and affected the Bama offense. Tua had less time to throw bc they were putting pressure on him all night. They got him to make some quick/bad decisions that affected the game in their favor, both in actual points, but also in momentum.

But it's also true that Bama made a bunch of mistakes on their own. And those things also affected the score and kept the momentum in Clemsons favor. False starts, late hits, kicking the ball out of bounds, and other penalties. On one of Clemson's drives Bama gave them 25 free yards with penalties. That takes them from the 30 to across mid field with no effort on their part.

I think on at least 2 sacks, he had a wide open WR 5 yards past the LOS in the middle of the field. He's just so damn obsessed with the home run ball.

Both short passes would have turned into 10+ yard gains.
