Bracket Matrix has us as the 3rd team out behind St. Bonnie and Tulsa.
Here are their last 4 in (using # of brackets in) and first four out. Also, this is BEFORE the Florida game last night.
Last Four In
VCU (11 seed) (79 of 98 brackets)
Butler (11 seed) (72 of 98 brackets)
Temple (11 seed (67 of 98 brackets)
Florida (11 seed) (66 of 98 brackets)
First Four Out
Tulsa (52 of 98 brackets)
St. Bonnie (41 of 98 brackets)
Alabama (34 of 98 brackets)
Gonzaga (32 of 98 brackets)
Then it falls off dramatically for possible at-large teams
George Washington (7 of 98 brackets)
Stanford (3 of 98 brackets)
Clemson (2 of 98 brackets)
Florida State (2 of 98 brackets)
LSU (1 of 98 brackets)
Ohio State (1 of 98 brackets)
So, basically, there are roughly 12 or 13 teams fighting for 9 spots, and we are firmly in the group of 13 (as of right now).

Obviously us winning is the most important thing, but it would behoove us for Seton Hall to beat Butler, St. Joe to beat St. Bonaventure, and Davidson to beat VCU tonight.
ETA: Does St. Mary's have any real shot at an at-large berth? Wouldn't it be better for us if Gonzaga wins their tournament?

Who knows. The committee seems to love those WCC schools. They are 0-1 vs the Top 50 but 6-2 vs the Top 100. Honestly, their profile is much stronger than Gonzaga's. Gonzaga is 0-5 vs the Top 50 and 3-7 vs the Top 100.
I think if St. Mary's makes it to Gonzaga and loses they have a shot, not to mention Gonzaga is 0-2 vs SMC. I think Gonzaga is auto bid or out at this point.

I'm not going to lie, I was so excited about next season and the potential. With Ferg leaving us high and dry my emotional status is much like Squidward's

I agree that we would want St Mary's to win that conference tournament.
Unfortunately though we probably aren't one of 12-13 teams fighting for nine spots, it's probably 6 or 7 spots at best when you factor in some bid thieves winning conference tournaments.

Luckily there aren't as many sure fire mid-major teams like the past. Teams like Valpo, UA-LR, Monmouth, SDSU, Akron, Hawaii, UAB even Wichita.........they are unlikely to make the NCAAT if they don't win their bid.
So, our real fear would have to be with teams like LSU, FSU, Washington, etc.

That's also a good point.

I know it is silly to "feel good" when talking the bubble, but I really think if we win tonight, win @ Georgia and then win our first SECT game we will be in one of the First Four games in Dayton.
I know I'm probably setting myself up for disappointment (although I think we are going to lose @ Georgia), but I really think that's the way it will go down if we win the next 3.

If we do that I think we'll be a 10 seed that's not worried about the first four.

I just can't even get myself to the seeding lines yet.
I'm not gonna lie, assuming we don't end up with Kentucky as the 2nd game, I want these guys to make a little run in Nashville. They can play with anybody in that tournament other than Kentucky.

Ala can tie the all-time record with Arkansas this evening.
Although, I think we are leading them in just SEC games but can't seem to find those stats.
27-28 as of now

The Bama-Arkansas games in the early 90's were great. Seemed like every game was close

yes they were
I was wrong, they are up 30-28. We are down 2.

ESPN is showing us as 1.5 point favorites

Must have a lot of people taking Arkansas tonight for the line to drop 2 points.

As much as I hate to say it, I'd probably make Arky the favorite.
Ever since the win at LSU and the NCAA tournament bid became a legitimate possibility, Bama's seemed to play scared and tight. Before that, it was frick it let's have fun. Gotta get back to that attitude.

Anyone have a list of bubble games for tonight and who we need to pull for or against? Or any games that would help our RPI?
