Yep. Also Texas A&M beat Ole miss so maybe they'll get back to their old selves again so that win looks better.

The win vs South Carolina looks not as impressive now

Yeah. They're overrated. At least we still have the other big wins. And Vandy lost to Miss State so that gets them out of the way

We're in the last 4 in now btw

Gave up on State last night when they were down by 15+ so it was a very nice surprise to see that they came back and won. That's huge for our chances at making the tourney. Gotta find a way to pull off a win tonight.

Gotta slow down LSU tonight. Obviously the main focus will be Simmons, but guys like Hornsby and Victor are no slouch. They push the ball up court and love to pound you in the paint.
Will be a pretty intriguing matchup. Bama obviously has one of the top scoring defenses and one of the best defenses in terms of FG% ( an avg. 59 PPG last two games vs Florida and A&M). But, to counter that, LSU without a doubt it one of the best offenses in the nation, leading the SEC with 81 PPG.
Bama is going to have to slow it down, keep feeding Taylor, limit 2nd chance opportunities and contain Ben Simmons.

Few things I am hoping for:
(1) Jimmie plays with confidence on offense and defense.
(2) We stay out of foul trouble, especially our bigs.
(3) We shoot at least 70% from the FT line as a team.
(4) Coleman and Hale actually provide something unlike the last time we played LSU.
(5) Edwards and Norris are able to get good looks from outside.

Agree 100%
Also would hope we don't get worked on the boards tonight like we did vs the Gators. As good as a defensive team as Bama, they are 193rd in the nation in DRPG. Gotta box out and stop Simmons in his tracks.

I think these are the real keys. I know we want to play up tempo basketball, but the team we have right now just can't run with LSU. We can, however, compete with them in the halfcourt - particularly if Donte Hall and Jimmie Taylor both come to play on the same night.

1. Retin has to get fouls called when he drives
2. One of Jimmie/Donta/Mike has to be our post spark. We can't get a bad performance from all 3
3. We have to shoot a respectable percentage from 3

The refs gave Retin zero respect @ Fla. He got knocked to the floor on his drives 4-5 times without a whistle.

The first half they called nothing, and then they completely changed in the second half and started calling fouls each time he drove whether he got hit hard or not. Retin just needs to knock down his free throws now.

The whole team needs to knock down free throws, were not very good at it.

I would not let the supporting cast beat me.. Simmons is going to get his.. Make sure the others do not.

A win tonight will put us tied for 6th. We will have wins over 4 of the 5 teams in front of us, with the one exception being UK. A win tonight would be HUGE.
I'm doubtful we are able to pull it off, but I was doubtful Saturday and was proven wrong. So.....

Here's the video of Avery making Shannon Hale apologize to Florida fans after the game for his behavior. I love it! LINK
