Does anyone have a Nick King update?

I know he is out for the rest of the year, but that's it. It would be nice if he could play next year, but his health is what's important. Hopefully, he is on the mend.

AL.com maybe the worst site for sports news. They had an article today talking about the Tuscaloosa natives are getting restless with Avery. I haven't seen anyone complaining that much about Avery. I swear these sports writers will write anything nowadays. It's ridiculous. Didn't see them write this stuff when Pearl had back to back 20 loss seasons. Real Bama basketball fans know the main problem is that we don't have the talent. I think Avery is doing the best he can with ehat he's got. Football has caused some of our fans to expect way too much from other sports.

i think it is about the click bait for ad revenue.

He still gets a big cheer from the crowd at Coleman. Until that stops, he's fine. mrbroker's right. There are frustrated fans, but I think that's directed more at the past decade than at Avery.

Why would they write that shite? I've gotten mad and questioned some of Avery's coaching ability, but I was just pissed off. I want to give Avery a couple of more recruiting cycles before I start wanting him fired.
All anger should be pointed towards the people who let Bama fall this far. We need new facilities and just a whole new approach to basketball. Blame all the assholes who put our basketball program on the back burner for all of these years.
I hope Byrne makes basketball a priority and brings us out of the dark ages.

I keep hearing people say Byrne is going to emphasize basketball. Why do people believe that? His biggest moves have been expanding Arizona's football stadium, hiring Rich Rodriguez, and hiring Dan Mullen. What am I missing here?
Also, I don't really blame the people for not focusing on basketball as much. Football is what drives performance evaluations down here.
Luckily Saban's success should afford Byrne the luxury of being able to focus more on other sports, but at the end of the day, I'm sure he knows what's considered by far most important. IMO Avery is going to have to be the savior of Alabama basketball or we're back to playing mid major coach roulette.

Plenty of places win in both basketball and football. I don't know why we can't be one of those places.

LOL, people are mad at Avery for 2 straight 17-18 win seasons and NIT appearances with the best class in school history about to come to town?
Who the fvck are these people? I'd like to meet them in the parking lot at the Northport Applebee's.

I agree completely. 1 tournament in over a decade is embarrassing. I'm just saying that for the AD football will always take priority here. Unfortunately, I think Avery and his staff are going to have to pull almost all of the weight themselves.
I don't see what in Greg Byrne's record should lead me to believe he's going to rebuild basketball here other than that he walked into a great program at Arizona.

I want to become a football/basketball school. Florida is a good example of what I wish we could be like. One year they won the football and basketball titles the same year. I can't imagine that

Do you guys remember when the Alabama basketball coach made more money than the Alabama football coach?
What a time to be alive.

Friend of mind worked under Bryce at Zona, the guy is very pro having quality basketball.
More to the point, he has been around Zona/Kentucky BBall plus MSU during their good years. He knows the pros of having a good program and how to run them
Also, you don't frick with a good thing like current Bama football. So as a guy with experience with blue blood basketball, seems obvious to start there

I know close doesn't count, but CAJ had Ferguson wrapped up during the early signing period. Now he didn't end up signing and isn't playing in college (I don't think), but I give CAJ a lot of credit for that recruitment.
And I imagine this season would be a little different with him on board.
