One thing is for sure, under Anthony Grant we would get down 18 and it's over. There's no chance of coming back. You'll likely lose by 25.

Under Avery Johnson, we get down 18, there's still a chance we can make a game out of it. They may not be any good offensively, but they're mentally tough as shown tonight and against South Carolina. Imagine our 5-stars next year being like that. We can win some games then.

I believe this, too. If CAJ can keep the grittiness intact, and continue to recruit like he's done with the next group, he'll have Alabama back on a national level (like many of the Newton and Wimp teams).

I don't get the optimism. Actually watch an offensive play.

There is no play! The center comes to the top of the key and sets a screen because we do not have a ball handler that can dribble or make anything for them self. Everyone else stands on the three line. That's all the play is.

Last year we had Retin, and I remember many times we'd call a timeout and have a perfect play set up for him to score, and he usually did. We just need someone we can rely on.

Our offense is not good and was not good tonight.

However, we held one of the best offensive teams in the country to 67 points and that includes late catch up free throws.

We outrebounded them too.

I'm not for moral victories but i didnt expect to win today either.

Have little doubt that Avery will have us at Wimp and early Gottfried levels soon. He just has to recruit at this years level consistently. Not sure how that will go; we'll find out next year. The rest I think he'll manage beautifully.
To me he was the best hire we could make at this stage of our basketball program.

Collin Sexton just hit a 3 at the buzzer to send their game against Westlake into OT. I think he has at least 33 points right now

Collin Sexton loves basketball more than any player we've ever had it looks like. He takes it very serious

43 points for Collin Sexton . His dad told me he had a hard workout this morning! Very few kids are this dedicated. I've seen him for 5years

That Westlake team has like 4 P5 playes. They are REALLY REALLY good (as is Wheeler, also in their region).

I'm more excited for Collin Sexton than any player coming to Alabama for sports since Julio Jones.

I cannot wait for that kid and his swag to take over our program.

He's unrated on 247. I don't expect much from our class next year. There isn't much talent in state

See that's the thing. If you are running a set then you are likely trying to get the ball to a certain player to score throw in inconsistent shooting, unskilled bigs, and a lack of playmakers then you get what we have on offense.

Like if we throw the ball in to the post there are very good odds that we will come away with nothing from it. Our bigs either throw it to the other team or they will get fouled then miss the free throws.

We are sort of stuck as an offense. Our best offense comes from our ability to crash the glass, but this also forces us to use 2 bigs which limits what we can offensively.

I knew today would be rough because Fox is such a good defender that he would screw up our offense more than usual and we were a bit reluctant to crash the glass because of how deadly they are on the break.

It is painful to see how badly we need someone who can just go get his when the offense is slumping.

Think it might be time for the players to learn how to shoot underhand FTs

There is solid ball movement and open shots. Also remember Avery said he took out a good bit of plays earlier in the year because this team has the basketball IQ of 2nd grader shitting their pants.

The team lacks so much confidence at the line. Yesterday it seemed contagious. Once a few starting missing FTs, everyone did. Nothing you can do about it. It's all mental.

Yea, when the only positive outcome of good movement and spacing is a layup as open jumpers can't be made frequently...........there ain't much you can do.

Hard to run great offense with almost no consistent shooting or slashing threats.

Also, with Pelham's win over Helena yesterday, Alex Reese now has reached over 2,000 points in his high school career.

I would disagree about this bigly. A lot of times down the court there's barely any passing. It's just Dazon, Key, or AJ pounding the ball for 20 seconds and then waving up Hall/Taylor to set a screen at the top of the key while the other 3 guys go to the corners.
