It's not just this. Our fans in football, "We can't show up to the national title, we've been too good." In basketball, "maybe if the team was good we'd show up"
Even when our fans show up so many are on death's door that they make no noise, and even will complain if you stand in front of them.

I mean, it cost me about $3000 to do a NC trip for me + wife. I don't blame fans not wanting to drop $3k almost yearly. Especially since watching on TV with friends isn't a terrible alternative
I have always viewed Basketball differently, TV is no substitute for watching live in the crowd. Especially since people don't make BBall tv watching a social event typically

You still can't prevent UK fans from buying tickets. They have every chance to buy them that Bama fans have.

Yellow might have been the wrong word choice, but it's not very appealing regardless. Is it the lighting or the floor itself?
