Ingram and AJ Jr are good enough. Herb and Petty are good open floor ball handlers, and point guards don't usually get into foul trouble anyways.

I'd love to see Ingram play the 3 spot (small forward). He'd be a nightmare for most forwards to defend and I believe that he could hold his own on the boards. Sorry but Junior ain't gonna be anything more than a spot player. He doesn't have the shot, quickness nor ball handling skills to be a positive factor for us nightly. We need a consistent 2 (shooting) guard badly, but IMO, we are desperate for another post player...one with offensive skills.
There you go, Coach! ...now all you've got to do is go out there and find them.

I agree, but I was responding to a post saying we needed a backup point guard in the recruiting class. Sexton/Ingram/AJ is plenty imo

Did anyone watch Giddens game at Ohio State? He's the key to all of this I think. Someone said he can hit the three. I hate when we play bigs who can step out and hit a jump shot like Kornet on Vandy, so I'd like to have one on our team

People that can normally hit 3's, come to Bama and forget how to do anything

If King could give us anything next year, that'd be awesome. I haven't given up all hope on him yet.

I'd just be extremely cautious in my optimism if I needed two true FR to pan out and still needed to find someone to man the 2. Let's be real, Riley Norris shouldn't be on the floor

I think your team will look scary come 2018, I think you'll like talented but inconsistent 2017. Too many unknowns need to pan out to have a tournament year given how the SEC gets shite on

One big issue for y'all will likely end up being struggle through OOC due to youth and gel for SEC but that not being enough.

Pipe down Gene. If you don't think that team needs a PG, you are the idiot.

I can't wait for your next riveting post on how Ala needs better players to improve.

So you are saying that PG w Sexton/Ingram is a bigger need than the position that has Riley Norris starting?

I can see sliding Ingram down to the 2, but otherwise you are going to have to explain what you're seeing

And THANK GOD we are getting rid of Bola's sorry arse, he's the worst player in Bama Basketball history...

He's probably the best big man we've had since Jamychal Green in that he actually at least does 1 thing extremely well (rebound). Do I need to list off our big men the last 5 years? So no, he's not the worst player in Alabama history.

All I know is our problem this year is we have no one that can consistently score. We are filling that need big time next year. Collin Sexton is a one and done player that Kansas missed on and John Petty may or may not be a one and done but Kentucky missed on him. Both are great scorers. That's what we need.

Agree with Gene. I'm excited about the new kids, but everybody needs to pump the breaks on both them and Giddens. Remember the suck fest over Nick King all off-season?

I'm excited because the roster will inevitably be better, but there are still a lot of unknowns and holes on it.

I don't agree. Auburn went from total shite to fringe bubble with a rotation of mostly freshmen. We just need to go from mediocre to tournament with 2 freshmen getting significant minutes and the rest being role players.

Also, Sexton is a legit future NBA starting point guard. Auburn's guys are likely future NBA role players

Maybe one and done for Sexton, almost definitely not for Petty.

Again, let's pump the breaks. 5-stars show up and get lost in the shuffle, struggle to adjust all the time. I don't think we should expect the 2 of them to arrive and immediately become John Wall and Boogie Cousins.

If you can find a solid 2/3 grad transfer, you won't even need the FR to be great to have a solid lineup

Something like this given at least some development occurs should be solid

1- Ingram
2- GT Transfer
3- Norris/King
4- Key
5 Hall/Giddens

I don't think that is a NCAAT lineup for next year, but I'd expect that lineup to win around 20 games

I think Sexton is starting at the point next year with little doubt. He's electric and we don't have a starting SEC PG on the roster. Ingram is a 2, and he has done his best to play point but that isn't he natural position with his skillset.

Like I said above, King and Giddens are going to have to prove they can contribute before I get excited about them.
