Naw Mitchell was a good but his anger wasn't beneficial lol...like if you watch Sexton play he gets upset and gets on to people and fires them up. Mitchell would mope around until he got a nice dunk.

The same Mitchell who attacked our medical staff and essentially quit on the team?

I'm not talking about his character

The basketball program seems to be cursed even when Gottfried was here...We had the perfect roster then Ray George didn't qualify. Gottfried had another nice team then Jamario Davidson has that wreck where his girlfriend dies and loses like 30 or 40 pounds. Had the number 1 team Winston comes in and fricks up the mojo if I recall. This year thought king would be the man he is sick...Shannon Hale???? Someone sacrificed the b ball program so football can be great again lol.

I was going to try and spread some hope, but then I found out "Finding Bigfoot" doesn't come on tomorrow night. I just knew that this would be the episode that they found him.

If we don't have a great season next year, we never will

Just seems like our guys font progress. I understand Key and sometimes Ingram but you're right we will see next year.

I will say this though, the crowd showed up and was amazing

Alabama Basketball sure does love those comeback rallies... that you know the entire time will not come to fruition. Just enough hope though to make you keep watching.

Just gonna bring a little positivity into this thread. Think about this: we've lacked success and suffered since the end of Gottfried's era, we haven't made a tourney in 4 years and haven't won a tourney game in 10 years, so we've been through the worst. NO WAY it can get any worse. Historically, the worst we'll be most years is an NIT team. Now we have the best recruiting class in Alabama basketball history coming in. We have a coach who has done decent with the "talent" that Grant left him. This season is almost over. As soon as that final game ends this year, the 2017-18 offseason begins and we can officially count down until the first time Sexton and Petty walk on to the court together. Don't unbuckle yet, at least wait and see what happens when Avery gets his players. I'm excited about what he can do. #BuckleUp

They scored 45 points from 3, shooting 55.6%. I've readily criticized our team this season, but in my opinion, Auburn won the game more than we lost it tonight. Saying our team embarrassed the University is overdramatic. The only way a sports team embarrasses a university is with a scandal like Baylor or Joe Paterno.
Also, I don't agree with the people saying we should press more. Sure we are long and have depth (depth meaning our bench is only slightly worse than our mediocre starters), but all of our players except maybe Hall are terrible in the open floor. Our only two competent offensive players are Key and Ingram, and they both try to play at a slower pace.

There are some scary trends though-
1) On a lot of possessions there is little to no movement on offense. It's not Anthony Grant level bad, but it's not good
2) We turn it over way too much.
3) Avery seemed confident in this team preseason. We can say the team has little talent, but whenever the coach sounds confident and things don't pan out, that's not a good sign.
I'm still excited/anxious for next year.
