Just took the box scores and threw the numbers into an excel spreadsheet. Now that I've got it current I plan on keeping it up for the rest of the season.
The interesting thing is that while the averages are pretty steady there are a few outlandish games. There have been three where the home team shot > 20 free throws more than the visitor (Mizzou @Uga, Vandy @Uga, Bama @AU). There have only been three games where the visiting team was > +10 with +15 being the highest.
I think the numbers also show why Fox had such a meltdown in the Bama/Georgia game. UGA is a +84 in Free Throw attempts for the season and whopping +50 in four home games. It is pretty clear that Georgia makes a substantial referee investment but not more than Bama. In their other three home games, they were +65 - against us they were -15. Fox was pissed about getting outbid. Thanks, REC.

I saw where a bunch of their wins have been by around 3 points or less. This game will probably be close, it's just gonna come down to whether we can finish or not.

More specifically, can we hit free throws. Arky's some fouling mofos.
For the season, they're averaging 21.6 fouls per game - which is 316th of 351 teams nationally and second only to Tennessee (22) for worst in the SEC. They're averaging 23 fouls per game in conference play.
Bama ain't great at 18.9 per game, but we still should get more chances at the line than they do. Making them count will go a long way towards winning the game.
