It was 30-30 at halftime, Alabama led 52-51 with 9 minutes left, Auburn led 63-59 with 5 minutes to play and then Auburn made 3 3's and had a 3 point play in the span of 2.5 minutes to go from 4 pts to 16 pts.

KenPom's predictions for the rest of the season

@ Arkansas - L 73-68 (34%)
vs Auburn - W 74-68 (71%)
@ South Carolina - L 64-55 (20%)
vs Kentucky - L 78-69 (20%)
@ Missouri - W 66-60 (72%)
vs LSU - W 79-67 (86%)
vs Georgia - W 65-61 (61%)
@ Texas A&M - L 64-60 (37%)
vs Ole Miss - W 73-66 (74%)
@ Tennessee - L 71-65 (28%)

Projected Record : 18-12 (11-7)
Per RPI Wizard that record = 68 RPI

I would take 17-10 (10-5) heading to A&M, though we probably need to win one of Arkansas/South Carolina/Kentucky to have any shot at the NCAAs (however I'm not really considering that as a legitimate possibility at this point).

After the slow start, overall I'd feel pretty good about a 4th place conference finish and relatively high seed NIT bid.

Agreed - have some packed houses and solid showings in the NIT and springboard into a big year next year with high expectations.

I was there and rewatched it on tv

Crazy free throw disparity in Auburn's favor

This comes from two things. First, Auburn is #13 nationally in FTA per FGA, suggesting their game is to get put on the line. Second, inability to defend Austin Wiley forced fouling

Hoping for a good game. If Auburn pulls it out for Tennessee, it should be an extremely exciting matchup

MSU this past weekend was a sellout. Wasn't 100% filled, but easily over 75% capacity. Was a good crowd for a 15k capacity gym.

We've had pretty good crowds for every game and our first sellout was Saturday

With how ridiculous the ticket priority system has become, getting 75-80% for a 'secondary' sport is a win

Getting ~11-12k is a great job though. Sucks that Coleman's acoustics are

Same as most years. Bad attendance at early season games, once football ended and the basketball team proved to be competitive better crowds but still some spotty with the dumbfrick old people who buy tickets for TidePride points. Students have been awesome the entire year.

However, anything short of a total packed house looks and sounds awful on TV because Coleman sucks and the priority seating setup. That shite has to change (and I'm guessing Avery is on it).

I'd say it was closer to 90% capacity vs. MSU. It was the first time all year that I have had to sit in my own seats. Next two Saturdays will be sellouts vs. Auburn and Kentucky. If we keep winning we will sellout vs. LSU as well for the last Saturday game.

I would be at the game this weekend, but I already bought tickets to the Predators game on Saturday.

Gotta go see my Wings.

It will be huge. Still, neither team is making the NCAAs, so next year the game will only grow in importance. Auburn being good is only a good thing for us (not that I would ever root for them against anybody).

Also, in regards to last game, if Mustapha Heron doesn't go off with off the dribble 3's late, then the game is close at the end. Don't get me wrong. He did it. He earned it. He closed us. Great job by him, but that's typically not his game.

Looked like a lot of empty student seats when they would show the crowd on TV.

Only because there were seats reserved either for recruits or football players and they didn't stick around, so there was a large gap in the middle of the student section.

Third, the home team in SEC play almost always receives a lot more attempts at the line than the away team (UK visiting excluded). Would not surprise me if the average is around 15 more FTs for the home team. It is completely ridiculous. Officiating shouldn't play that much of a role in the game.

In Away/Neutral site games, Auburn avg about 5+ FTA compared to the other team. It really is from the style of play, "Screw the team, I'm driving the lane."

Nearly 50% of the FTs in that game where by Austin Wiley, where it was clear that Alabama wasn't able to defend him that night. Similar to how the Shaqtus use to draw fouls in the NBA

2003 Alabama (12-2) @ Auburn (14-2) [68-77 AU W]

Auburn hasn't really been good since then

Fun Fact: Only 4 times in history have both teams been ranked in basketball during a matchup and only once since 1980
