New information:
Speculation that Luke Del Rio may leave.
BOL mentioned that Cornwell is the prototypical Lane Kiffin quarterback. Bateman also seems to fit that mold.
-First time the mods on BOL have mentioned the possibility of Coker.

Notice nothing about Morris or Sims, that speaks volumes

Hate to see that about Del Rio, Ive been impressed with his reported poise and knowledge of the game from the beginning

Coker, Cornwell, Bateman
How I want the top three to turn out.
How it will?
No idea. Sims will probably get a few "wildcat" snaps, just because Saban will feel like he owes him something.

They both have good size, are good athletes, have strong arms.
This nugget came from a college coach not at Bama.

I think (hope), it is a Cornwell vs. Bateman battle. Unless Morris has fixed his accuracy and touch issues, and Sims has learned to hit the broad side of a barn, I think those two are our best options.

I edited the OP to add high school highlights from each qb.

sans coker, it's bateman vs the freshman ... with coker, who knows ... i think bateman has the physical tools to be a winning qb with the offensive talent, but we all want that big armed guy who can sling it into a window ...
my question ... will we have a clear cut qb by the opening game, or will the first 3 games (wv, florida atlantic, southern miss) be the real scrimmage that determines who the qb is? ...

Let's see what Kiffin can do with Blake Sims. He's the senior, he bleeds crimson and if he can at least become an adequate passer then we have a lethal run threat at QB. I'm rooting hard for Blake to earn the job.

I'm certainly not rooting against Sims, but he worries me. Again, it isn't his actual throwing that is completely horrible, it's all the stuff that happens before he throws it.

Me too... He really deserves a chance. If it doesn't workout, I say use him the same AU used K. Burns or let him transfer to get that chance.

Did Kiffen recruit Sims as a QB at UT?
Posted on 1/17/14 at 5:47 pm to WW
Pretty sure he recruited him as some sort of offensive weapon, but not QB.

Now I wish I would've bookmarked that thread where the Florida state fan was saying that no legit sources were talking about Coker transferring
ETA: I saw Trey bumped it
