His shot was off and he had no confidence in it either. Can’t really fault the no confidence part though because on so many he wasn’t even close.
Wouldn’t hurt my feelings for Holt to leave because his shot looked broken. With the portal, I’m all for replacing the freshmen/sophomores on your roster that you aren’t sure will be solid high major players with more established guys, especially if they’re coming from a high major program. It’s a riskier strategy when you’re pulling guys from mid majors and lower.

I forgot Burnett.
Honestly, I would like:
Bediako
Gurley (He has tools and could develop)
Shackelford (Elite shooting, will grow)
Burnett (Elite defending guard)
Miles (Will continue growth)
Even though the right move would be yo come back, I don't really see JQ doing that.
With those five and the major talent haul we brought in, we have more experience with our bigs and Elite shooting and ball handling.
Just need Oats to coach them some defense.

Gurley,, burnett , bradley, griffen, and miller all have lengty and/or huge wingspans. I think defensively we ll be able to resemble the 20-21 team. Throw miles in with that group if he returns

I didn't really want Shack to come back after he was in the portal and I definitely don't want him back next season. Time we both move on imo.

I think Shack gets a bad rap. No, he can’t be the best player on an elite team and that’s what he was forced into this year with our lack of consistent scoring threats. Mixed in with a more complete roster he’s a floor spacer and threat to go off any night

He’s the same player that he’s been his entire career. He can get hot, at least 3 games a season. He drives uncontrollably and just throws up prayers. He can’t play defense

I agree with you. He was much better being the Robin to Pettys Batman
He also flops a lot on offense and defense and stopped getting calls when he actually got fouled or drew a charge because of it.

I hope Holt comes back. He can develop into a really solid player in a couple seasons. Not sure if the coaches think he and Burnett are the same type player, but that could be in his mind. They are both 2-3s with long arms. Not sure where they both fit next year. But I like both guys.

I don't think he sucks or anything, I just think there are more complete players available in the portal that would help us more.
I'm also not really convinced that he or his father realize that he can't be the best player on an elite team and I doubt he wants a lesser role moving forward.

I was pretty excited for Holt initially, but it seems like he has a ways to go maturity wise. If he can be replaced with a guy that can help next year instead of waiting for him to develop for 2-3 years, I think you have to do it.

Youre sort of guessing and speculating. I think shack is very good with right pieces around him... Especially coming off screens or spotting up. His defeciencies are no worse than petty's were .

Aren't we all guessing and speculating? Petty was also much taller, longer and could defend on the perimeter.
Again, i'm not saying Shack sucks, but I do think he's a guy that can be replaced. He's not a perfect fit for our system on offense or defense and if we can replace with someone else then i'm here for it.

Shack has proven to be very good with the right pieces around him (see last year). That isnt a guess. This year he wasnt as good as a focal point
