He was like #14

Damn a ranking! Video don't lie. That's why a lot of guys that's in the know on this board of what a true basketball player is supposed to look like don't post much. We just sit back and watch the shite show. It's always the guys that never played a minute of organized ball in their life that every time you click on here there's a green light by their name with hundreds of posts even in the wee hours. Every time I see the Joker post I ask myself is that my sixteen year old son on here trolling. He has to be no more than twenty two years old that's why I never respond to his outlandish comments and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one. Some guys like yourself look at rankings and think that's bond. Which it's not. I'm not new to this board by any means, coach. Don't get it twisted by the date on the profile. Go back and read my posts(like some of you couch analysis will, mainly you). I try not to spew nonsense. I don't post much. It's called a job, a business, and a family that's takes up a lot of my time. I don't have to use my hand at night. Ask my wife! I'm a hoola hoop champion. #RMFT

'd rather go to the portal than HS for a PG honestly if you need one right away. Sears has a year of eligibility left after this year so he could return next year.

I'd love to see us find a real PG. If Sears did come back next year and moved to SG he could score in bunches, he and Walters both, with such a player.

He doesn't have the handles and isn't good enough as a passer to play point.

I think he’s been very good. He’s got 40 assists and 20 turnovers and is averaging over 20 points a game.

He’d probably be even better next year. Idk who we could get out of the portal that would put up better numbers. He’s putting up better numbers than any other PG in the SEC this year so far this season and we have had a hard schedule.

Sears is a PG. We need more wings. That’s why our defense sucks arse

Reid and Sherrell cant get here quick enough. Both are great on defense.

An experienced Sears with those two and Cunningham next year along with what we should return we could be really good.

Would still definitely like to add another good guard or two out of the portal.

I still think Cunningham is the biggest get. A guy doesn't get ranked #1 overall in his class, at any point, without having supreme talent. Especially in basketball. Yeah, he fell off a bit, but there could be several reasons why that happened outside of his actual basketball ability.

Reid-Stevenson-Sherrell

If Stevenson plays next season, these three will be the best frontcourt lineup in the conference.

Walters should be really good too after he adds some weight. He can really shoot.

Personally, I don't think the initial rankings during HS Freshman-Sophomore are very meaningful. (It was also a time that overlapped with the COVID-19.)
This is because they do not pay much attention to scouting.
He just got the hype early on.

Because the growth rate of physical and skill aspects varies from person to person, there is a big difference between the HS Freshman-Sophomore period and the HS Junior-Senior period. There is even a huge difference between HS seniors and college freshmen.

I like Cunningham and think highly of his potential, but after watching him play this spring and summer, I think the ranking and evaluation he is currently receiving are correct.

The question is what the addition of Reid, who plays in the same position, will mean to him. I don't think it would be strange at all for him to decommit.

I agree. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the best player on the team by his junior or senior year.

I'm not saying he's doing an NLI release. However, in this day and age, nothing is 100%.

Reid wanted to come here the whole time, he has some Georgia fans in his family though being from there. He’s not going anywhere.

I spoke about Cunningham.

He’s not going anywhere either. He and Reid can play at the same time, we have a position less system for the most part. We’ve had guys listed as SF’s play SG, PF, and even PG sometimes in Herb Jones case. Hell, Herb played everywhere from PG to C for us depending on the situation and matchup.

Sounds like you are. NLI exists for a reason. He can’t get a release for no reason.

You do the stats I do the eyeball test. You can rack up numbers in games like tonight but let's hear those stats against the better teams.

Mark Sears is a scorer and shooter. He's not a true PG and will cough it up against good pressure. So will Estrada and Wrightsell.

Arizona was beatable by us and we turned it over and shot poorly. They were begging to get beaten by just an average night from three.

I don't know how much I've seen of them play, but they are typical wing players with ups and downs in 3-point shooting. In terms of defense, the small lineup is okay, but the offense clearly overlaps and becomes a problem. They said they would use Nelson as SF this season, but that failed and they continue to use him as PF.

Yes, that's right. But most people respect the player's opinion. This is because there is nothing we can do if they cannot receive playing time because there are many players in the same position. I'm not saying he's going out, I'm just giving an example of what could happen.
