Been reading through the past few hours, at a loss for words honestly.
Absolutely terrible someone died when they had only really started life. My thoughts and prayers are with that young woman's family and friends.

Sounded like about 12 shots to me. Could’ve been from the same gun. Didn’t sound like it was from a different gun or direction to me, but I’m no expert.

I want to still care about basketball because this was looking like possibly our greatest season ever, but it feels cheap and dirty to even think about it when one of Alabama’s players may have murdered a young woman. I have daughters very close in age to this girl. Oats and the team will have to move on and play out the season but I’m kind of numb to it right now. This is just a big pile of suck all the way around.

Definitely more than one gun, but the driver admitted to return fire so that would be expected.

I have seen crimson chaos members posting about how Miles was their favorite player because of his good personality, how jokey he was, and how much he interacted with them and other fans. I doubt anyone saw this coming.

I mean, Miles was basically off the team. He was out for personal issues and then out for the year with a likely transfer next year.
It does really suck, no doubt, but it doesn’t have much to do with this team.
A couple years ago 4 football players got caught beating up people and stealing their student card to buy shite. None of them were core guys and the team moved on. Obviously this is more severe with loss of life, but he had a foot and a half out the door of this program.

I shouldn’t say it doesn’t have much to do with the team. Obviously he was a teammate and it’ll affect the guys.
I guess I just mean it shouldn’t affect your enjoyment of cheering for this team and the guys contributing. It’s the same squad we’ve loved all year. They didn’t do anything wrong.

Fever...I didn't mean it towards you. I just responded to your post.

Probably just the hopeful side of me looking to explain things, but the firing at the car seems to be so backwards to what you would expect. They have an argument, so they later chase down the car they were in and start firing? Would make more sense if they were the ones in the car.

Good take....agree completely

I’d like to believe that but Oats and players are going to be asked about it every time there’s a microphone anywhere near them, at least for a few weeks. There will be constant reminders on every game broadcast. He may have been on his way out but apparently other players - stars like Miller - were hanging with Miles the night it happened. If Oats can navigate this and keep this team on track he’ll more than earn his money this year.

The whole story doesn't make sense. The guy that was with the girl that was killeds story is that they shot into the car and killed her because she wouldn't talk to them.
That seems like a very extreme reaction. We probably wont ever know what really happened, sounds like both parties were shooting at each other. One of those arrested was shot too.
I assume Miles and the dude started it since they're the ones that got arrested. Sad situation though RIP to their girl, I feel horrible for her family.

From an article, it sounds like a continuation of an argument that started on The Strip

Apparently Miles or his friend fired first then dude with the girl returned fire. That Ring video sounded like 10-12 shots. Ima stop speculating. The facts will come out.

Not to speculate, but it almost makes you wonder if the “personal issues” he left for were related to this situation. If it was a love interest/break up that he was having a hard time with and it built up until last night.
Just reading the tea leaves, that was the first thing that came to my mind when the news broke.

Miller and our other players had every right to hangout with his friend/teammate at a party. They had nothing to do with what Darius or anybody else had going on.
It can easily be navigated by the players and the coaches.

Yeah it does sound like that. I haven't seen the ring camera video.
Id believe they got into it with the dude and started shooting way before I believe that it was something about her not talking to them and they get so mad they shoot at them.
I am done speculating about it too, Miles and the other guy that got arrested were obviously in the wrong regardless.

I know a couple of those guys personally and I can truly say that they've NEVER had a "bad guy" vibe to them.

That was the story early on and would make more sense but the more I see about it the more it seems like it was some random encounter on the strip that started it.
She was from Bham and just in town with her boyfried to see her cousin who goes to the university according to an article I read.
