Yep. We needed TEs in general, but especially blocking TEs. Cuevas is a good receiving TE. The two incoming freshmen both project as potentially very good receiving TEs. We really needed a couple of reliable blockers to join Danny Lewis. Big need that we shored up.

Tulane quarterback TJ Finley has entered the transfer portal for a 5th time.
He transferred to Tulane earlier this year and then got arrested on charges of “illegal possession of stolen things” and was suspended from team.
Prior to being with Tulane, Finley was also a part of LSU, Auburn, Texas State, and Western Kentucky.
He will now be looking to transfer to his 6th school in 6 years.

is keeping the entire team out of the portal through spring not one of the greatest recruiting feats we have seen in a long time? walk ons only leaving is crazy

Absolutely. The past 5 months in particular have been extremely impressive. Right after the season he got guys to come back for another year instead of heading to the draft/portal and now he has held the team together through the Spring portal.

With the final day on a Friday and the fact that it takes some time to hit the system officially, we may not really know until next week if no scholarship players entered the portal. However, this is indicative that the players are bought in on this regime and the NIL’s price was right.

According to Ryan Fowler, Bama is the only team in the SEC that didn't have a scholarship player enter the Spring portal.

Breaking News: The NCAA Transfer Portal period has ended, and no Crimson Tide players have entered the portal.
Keep in mind that schools still have a few hours to process any players who may have decided late last night.
However, my sources tell me that Alabama will not have any scholarship players entering the portal.
The Crimson Tide is the only school in the SEC that did not lose a scholarship player during the late portal period.
This is an incredible job by Kalen DeBoer, Courtney Morgan, and the entire Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff. It says a lot about the current team chemistry and the expectations for this team.

Building culture is going to be a big part in holding rosters together in this era. Sounds like DeBoer is building that.
