Off topic, but do we know yet what was up with the Matta "leak?" Was the media in on it? Was Byrne proving his point to them, or just us? Was somebody just wrong and spread the wrong name?

Part of me thinks Byrne was testing a leak within his group. I maintain that he should’ve told them Mike Davis and not Thad Matta though

Bama fans would’ve made Oats feel like he was the second coming in that scenario

I said this earlier, but I don't think it classifies as "sky is falling"

I think that he's a very good coach, it just feels underwhelming right now. I sure hope he's successful. This isn't nearly as big of a reach as hiring Avery

I definitely feel like Byrne was finding his leak to plug it. That rumor hit from too many sources in too short of a time for anything else. That wasn’t one poster copying another, that was multiple sources with the same “scoop.”

Oates will be hitting the recruiting roads hard. The 1st without question is retaining our point guard. I have a feeling discussions with him took place tonight. I also believe Petty with right coaching could be an above average player & an asset next 2 years. If they move on I wish them well but Oates will give his best sales pitch so they stay.

Will be interesting, some of said we will back off if it gets to high because our AD doesn't want to overpay. If that is the case I would imagine one of the other top candidates is still in line or we could just frick it all up.

We are fixing to go toe to toe with the ACC and Big XII for best basketball league. Give Bama and UGA a couple of years to get our shite back together and the SEC will be murderers row.

Hard to really tell who is an option at this point. We have heard Marshall is interested as well but we all know how that is gone in the past. Not sure that Forbes is on Hunter's radar but if some other coaches fall through and we look to the midmajors, wouldn't complain at all about him.

Marshall's wife will wear on people's nerves fast. I'm pretty sure she'd get her arse kicked up there

How many practices have you ever been to or how often were you in the practice facility when players were getting up shots?

If Byrne leaked Matta’s name to find a leak in his inner circle, then kudos that is some CIA level ish.
