I agree with both of you, Donovan would be a grand slam. But if blue bloods like UCLA and Arizona and Kansas are open, with all their resources for basketball and tradition, why in the world would he choose Alabama? Just being realistic. Certainly you call and ask, but if Billy wants back in the college game, there are bigger jobs than ours. Hell, I think if he’s really in play, there’s a handful of schools that would fire their current coach just to hire Billy D.

Well Billy D did coach at a football first school and was successful.

Billy D also was hired from a Marshall program, where he went 35-20. It's a little bit different when you have two national championships on your resume.

Steve Locklear's house is available right now.

Don't forget too that both Bill Battle and Greg Byrne are neighbors

If he wants back in the college game, offer him one dollar more than the highest paid coach and see what he says, swing for the damn fences!!

Since we’re on the subject of Donovan, OKC is currently 7th in the west with a .5 game lead over SA.

OKC’s 4-6 record over their last ten is worst among playoff teams in the west.

If OKC misses playoffs with 2 all stars on team they'll probably want him gone anyway so worth asking. Problem is 2 or 3 more weeks left in regular season.

They’ll make the playoff but if they’re the eight seed I expect them to get bounced first round by GS. Still too early to tell though because the west is so tight.

Yea that is a bad timeline with other jobs potentially opening up. Would be a hit with players and recruits though

If Forbes was announce today, I would be happy as well

Pete Thamel is saying keep an eye on John Pelphrey....to hell with that. I say shut the program down if it comes to that.

Yea, frick that. I'd rather just hand it over to Bucky and tell him to learn fast

Don’t believe that will happen. If he were an assistant somewhere else I could see someone wanting to give someone a second chance but he was on the bench for the shiteshow we have been watching under Avery

Pelphrey wouldn't even be who I'd hire out of the assistants on staff.

Would you put Mike Anderson on the staff?

He mentioned several other coaches first and only mentioned Pelphrey after he said it was the most mysterious coaching search to gauge. The way I read it was “Hell, John Pelphrey could be the guy for all I know”. Weird to even mention that option, but definitely didn’t seem like he took that as anything close to one of our top options.
