Wtf is Larry Brown still doing as a coach? He's old as hell. Some people just don't know how to relax and enjoy life.

if you are doing what you love to do why retire. I have a coworker who is 86 and works 4 days at week.

Lucky's opinion on Avery as a coach (Non-VIP)
quote:
I don't know. He has terrific connections and would have to think he would be a great recruiter. He's not an active coach and hasn't been a collegiate coach. That would give me some consternation if I was Battle making the decision. But, with that said, he may be the best option on the table at this time. Not a hedge, just saying I don't know.
Based on the Poll on the site, he would be the overwhelming favorite from the fans.

Recruiting: His background alone will do wonders in recruiting. Plus he apparently has AAU connections so that could definitely help.
Personality: He seems very energetic and charming. I think he would do well with getting the fans to show up and be excited.
Coaching: He may not have coached college before, but he has a solid background in the NBA, and while I don't know the situation with the Nets, I know they've been a dumpster fire for awhile so I hesitate to blame him for anything.

I'd offer him about $2.5 million a year with lots of incentives. I'm still leery of college success or lack of it.

Cecil feels Avery's pain..

And info is usually very accurate with Cecil because it seems like he doesn't speculate nearly as much as BOL does.

Any of our trusted "insiders" saying anything about Johnson?

I'd say very short term.
That was Cecil's answer in that thread

I'm not sure why he retweeted a random chick named Avery Johnson, except for they obvious reason. I just think it's funny she's the Avery he picked. Because I bet they don't have shite in common.
