One of Rees' many offensive trademarks is collapsing in the red zone. So this should be fun to watch.

But, hey trust the Golding-loving boomers when they tell you Rees is still Sark 2.0. He was just given the short end of the stick when it comes to talent both here and at ND.

Bama is a better team, but it's not a great matchup.

Bama needs to be successful on 1st and 2nd down so 3rd down isn't always an obvious passing down.

TAMU has a great run defense and pass rush but not a great pass defense, which is the worst thing for Bama.

Max Johnson has played at a level that it seems weird he wasn't the starter all along. He's played in 4 games and completed over 60% of his passes in each game with 6 TDs and only 1 INT.

This is the kind of game Bama would usually win 45-24 but this year it could be a 24-21 loss or 27-24 win or something.

Gotta have Jalen play well all night, not get penalties, and win the turnover battle.

I'm not convinced A&M has a great rush defense. I think it's improved over last year, but they've given up rush yards at a decent clip this year

New Mexico RBs - 29 rushes, 91 yards (3.14 YPA)
Miami RBs - 22 rushes, 89 yards (4.05 YPA)
ULM RBs - 29 rushes, 129 yards (4.45 YPA)
Auburn RBs + Ashford - 29 rushes, 181 yards (6.24 YPA)
Arkansas RBs - 21 rushes, 45 yards (2.14 YPA)

Keep in mind that last year we ran 51 times for 286 yards (5.6 YPA) against them. Our running backs ran 34 times for 205 yards (6.03 YPA).

So, I say all that to say, I think that this A&M front is a much better pass rush front than a gap sound run front. And some of that has to do with Durkin and his scheme, but I think we can have success on the ground if the OL is actually improved.

A lot of people are talking about A&M's defense - specifically run defense - as if it's an old school Alabama or Georgia defense that just throws up a brick wall against the run. It just isn't. I think it's a "good" run defense with a lot of very talented individual defenders who can wreck plays in the backfield and are monsters on pass downs, but I think they also give up yards because of that style.

Maybe because Weigman was 69% with 8 TDs and 2 INTs and 2 rushing TDs?

Weigman was the starter for a reason. He's a better QB than Max - has better tools, has great wheels and runs like a RB when does take off.

Max is a great college backup and they're lucky to have him, but I'd absolutely prefer to see him out there than Weigman.

On pace for 14 penalties, several to make it 3rd and 10 or more.

Stuns me they keep getting so many... nearly another 100 yds today.
