I don't think CKD is the man for the job but IMO, his only hope is at the end of the season to fire several of his assistants:

Kane Wommack-I don't care if they go way back and they're buddies. He's just not getting it done and is clearly in over his head. He has the defense woefully unprepared most weeks.

Chuck Morell/Christian Robinson-LBs coaches. MASSIVELY underwhelmed. No development of the LBs.

Chris Kapilovic-O Line coach. How can a coach with all that talent on hand do so little with it?

There HAS to be some better assistants out there. Almost anything would be an improvement over these guys. That said, I may be wrong but I get Mike Shula vibes from CKD where he was ferociously loyal to his assistants no matter how badly they were hurting him. I hope I'm wrong.

It starts at the top. He doesn’t have the demeanor to coach a program like Alabama. Making assistant coaches is a temporary fix that doesn't solve the real problem.

No one is talking about Grubb. He accomplished yesterday, exactly what got his arse fired at Seattle

Yep, DeBoer needs to be a boss. Not a friend. He needs to be on these guys like his job depends on it, because it does.

He has a lot of guaranteed money and I don't see substantial changes happening unless it comes from Byrne

Byrne should fire some of the assitants if Deboer wont. If he refuses then fire him.
