His best chance of pulling his shite together is at Alabama, IMO.

Am trying to think of a recruit that has had THAT dramatic of a recruitment turn out. No way Yeldon or Cyrus are in that category.

Most of them flop because, as the recruiting process shows, they are headcases. I don't think Reuben is a headcase though. I think he's just an extremely naive kid who fell for Trooper's bullshite hook, line, and sinker. Then Trooper took advantage of his trust and manipulated the shite out of him. I know he doesn't realize it now, but he was just being used as a vehicle for the scumbags on that staff to exact a little petty revenge for Yeldon, Calloway, and Cyrus.

ETA: I give Reuben a solid 75% chance of becoming a major contributor for us at some point in his career if he can learn the playbook. There is definitely some Jerrell Harris potential there too though.

I actually agree. Even seeing him last night, he really does come off as naive and immature. Kid needs to pick up some street smarts.

Wonder why? Alabama has more top 100 players and more 5 star players but are rated #8 below several others. Bama even has less recruits.

The main thing with Rueben is he needs to learn to be his own man. There will be plenty of people in Tuscaloosa looking to latch on him to him because he's a high profile football player and usually those people don't have the player's interest in mind. Right now, I'm concerned that Reuben lacks the maturity to recognize these types or tell them "no". Hopefully, CNS will assign him a veteran player to be his mentor and keep him on the straight and narrow until he figures out how to tell people no.

That's one of the main reasons. Scout counts top 25 players in each class and the teams above us have more commitments.

I don't know if his father is involved in his life, but he definitely seemed like a kid that needs a father figure.

I don't think we need to make any judgments on the kind of parenting he needs in his life just because he couldn't make up his mind. We get way too wrapped up in this and it gets a little too personal sometimes. I had a hard enough time choosing a college when I was coming out of high school, I can't imagine keeping a level head when hundreds of thousands of people are looking to me as their "salvation".

Just my $0.02

I'm not really making judgment on his parents as whether or not they are good parents. His dad may be very involved and loving but not be a "Father" type figure. Mothers can be "Father" type figures... It's just sometimes kids need someone to do more than just love them; they need someone who will help them mature, learn to make decisions, etc... He just seems like he is lacking some of that.

I'm trying to think of a recruit that we have that was considered immature before he got into the program. Was there one?

Exactly.

Like Bella said though if there's anybody that can help Foster get his shidt together it's Saban.

You have to remember that back during the summer, Reuben stated in an interview that he was telling his Auburn friends that he was going to Auburn, his UGA friends that he was going to UGA, and his Bama friends he was going to Bama because he didn't want to let any of his friends down. Maybe he's changed since then, but that's not a good trait to have with the type of hanger-ons that will be targeting him.
