Was gonna post something snarky about it will be fun to watch Sheffield on LastChanceU next season, and then I saw this and had a "wow...damn" moment.

Yea, I'm not liking the depth on this team for the grind of the SEC season. We've got plenty of QBs though.

At least CJ's little brother got a scholarship as a result of all the transfers.

I'm not that worried, both Carter and Mayden are plenty capable. Not to mention if we need the outside covered, say it's more important Fitz will move over there and we put another 5* in his place at nickel. However with AA or Mayden doing well I think it's fine.

That is troubling no matter how you look at it. Hope it doesn't set a trend. Its getting to be too much like Basketball.

Ok if Boz is not worried, I'm good too.

We also get T Brown back 4 games in. He would cover Nickel if Fitz went outside. He is proven there IMO and hits like a freight train. We have options, some unproven but highly athletic.

The WRs want Barnett or Hurts not only because of the deep ball, they don't want Bateman floating one of his wounded ducks over the middle getting them decapitated when they go up for it.

The turnover on D doesn't surprise me at all. Kirby was a nice guy by all accounts. I've met him and his personality reminds me of Bobby Bowden who I've also been around. I can't say I knew Kirbys persona on the field and he may be different there. But also, by all accounts, Pruitt is a hard arse and canbe quite the a-hole. He tough and he's mean and he has his expectations and he means business. I know nothing about Coach Ansley. But some of these departures may be simply personality clashes between players and their coaches. A guy that loved Kirby's "aww shucks" ways may be totally turned off by Pruitt's "get your arse in gear" ways. I'm not knocking one or the other, just reading between the lines combined with what I know.

Question: How does it compare to other years?

Answer: Pretty much par for the course.

2015
Jonathan Taylor
Malcolm Faciane
Jonathan Cook
Dee Liner
Altee Tenpenny
Tyren Jones
Alec Morris

2014
Chad Lindsey
Parker McLeod
Dee Hart
LaMichael Fanning
Tyler Hayes
Corey McCarron

Just because the idiots on tRant say the sky is falling doesn't mean it is true.

The ugliness of the Mo Smith situation is the only thing different about the attrition this year.

I dont know bro... we have lost mostly 1st and 2nd year players this offseason. I understand with the LB's that they were pretty much recruited over and we have discussed the Sheffield thing pretty thoroughly.

I think SBB was a bit of a hot-head and Charlot just got impatient. But its still not too pleasant seeing guys that havent even been on campus two seasons gone already. I get it though... #BAMAPROBLEMS

Doubt it is that low. Wasn't that long ago we were talking about getting down to 85 and CJ's brother just got put on scholarship.

He is all of those things, but he also relates really well to players and recruits. Once they've spent time with him and they see he pushes so hard b/c he wants them to succeed, is seems they all start to love the guy.

UGA players wanted Pruitt to be kept by new staff

I'd rather it not happen but IMO it is an unavoidable consequence of having recruiting classes filled top to bottom with guys that have been told that they were bound for the NFL since junior high. Some simply aren't going to accept that there might be someone better than them.

Like you said, #BAMAPROBLEMS

This is from CJ Mosley's Instagram

From BOL:

quote:

What we know at this point on Alabama redshirt freshman cornerback Kendall Sheffield is he missed both of yesterday's two-a-day practices. Sources indicate the Texas native has been concerned with possible playing time in a crowded secondary. The same source indicated because of that, he has considered the possibility of transferring -- something a lot of younger players that enter the program as highly-rated recruits do. Whether or not Sheffield has been granted a transfer is not a 100-percent certainty with the situation being fluid.

The discussion that has occurred is between he and Nick Saban right now, as in cases like this there are often twists and turns. We hope to know more this evening when Saban holds a post-practice press conference (around 5 p.m. CT).

People hate to hear the word "fluid" in a situation like this but it really iS. Not all that uncommon, really, for guys to do this and then be at practice the next day. Not saying that will be the case here; just need to let it play out.

So he may not be gone after all.

Ehhhh it was made pretty clear to me that he was gone, but hey things can happen. If I hear that I'll report in.
