To be fair, a large amount of the Bama fanbase seemed to be Coker haters last year

I'm glad to hear that. Otherwise, my "X. Marks the Spot" GameDay signs with his number and dashed lines leading to an X in the end zone were wasted effort.

This is a great concept as long as you have plenty of depth

Yes, it is. Regarding our depth.... LINK

ETA, not being a dick, but we have the talent to apply pressure to opposing teams in all areas of the game.

According to signing day, we should never lose a game. It doesn't work like that. Look at Drake getting hurt on special teams last year.

So we start the 3rd string for all games so no one important gets hurt?

We have 4 RBs on scholarship. 2 are sophomores and 2 are true freshmen. I don't think you take unnecessary risk with them on special teams. It's pretty simple.

Drake also broke his leg on a routine running play and missed nearly an entire season. We've probably had more serious injuries happen in camp/practice than actual game time in the past year and a half. shite happens.

shite happens, but the more you are on the field, the better the odds of getting hurt. If you get hurt being a running back its one thing, but getting hurt playing special teams would suck. Saban even said something about it after Drake got hurt last year.

Yeah I'm not sure I get the "don't let talented players play special teams" argument. I'm willing to bet that a great majority of player injuries occurred outside of special teams since Saban has been at Alabama.

A few more plays per game is not going to decide whether or not a player gets injured.

Okay, we keep Drake off of special teams last year, and we don't have one of the most amazing, timeless plays in Alabama history. Got it.

Look at what we have at running back. 0 starts and probably less than 200 carries. It's a bad situation. Especially, if you add in all of Bo's injuries.

How do you know that the guy taking his place wouldn't have done the same thing?

I don't, but we can only go by what actually happened.

Which RBs have been reported as being kickoff returners?

And again, a couple of more plays a game isn't going to make a difference.

I hope he plays this year with some kind of package that fits his skill set.
