Wouldn't you be happy if..
If your eyes aren’t good enough to read that, it basically says that Tennessee will honor the contract of Jones and pay him his buyout in full. That number came to $8.25 million. The letter says that that figure will be “mitigated” by the salary of Jones’ next job.
Butch will be paid monthly until February 28th, 2021. That’s a monthly paycheck of a little over $200,000.
The letter says that Jones must complete the University’s exit procedures by Friday, November 17th. Jones will receive his first payment by the end of the month.
Currie ended the letter with, “Coach Jones, we wish you well in your future endeavors.” And just like that, the Butch Jones era is finished.

He won't find a job in the next couple of years paying him that much anyway. Smartest thing he can do is take the next couple of years to learn under Saban. By then his buyout will be up and he can go for big money again in 2021.

JMO but if Nick does hire Sark then not only will Sark be the OC but he would be the QB coach as well thus opening another spot for either an offensive coach or another defensive coach. The again Lance Taylor could still be the receiver coach and Butch and Sark could be the Enos/Locks team for 2019.

He could be TE coach and Co-OC or Asst Head Coach.

This makes sense, but I will lose my everloving mind if he ever actually became our playcaller... the motherfricker couldn't figure out Alvin Kamara was leagues better than Hurd (and didn't use Kamara well at all when he was in).

Flood at OL?
I'm operating under that assumption right now so I wont be dissapointed if that's the decision. Don't love it at all, but he has some bad looks on his record so assuming he doesn't suck as technician and can recruit he will be here for a while.

Suttles posted a first look at the depth chart for 2019 for the defense and special teams. He opens with this
Tosh may end up staying, but if Suttles is willing to speak to it now (he has been awful about breaking news since he joined the Athletic) there is something happening on that front.

The close of the season for Alabama’s defense? left Nick Saban with heartburn. How could it not For a man known for his defense, allowing 28, 34 and 44 points in succession was enough to make him question the unit. It was the first season for defensive coordinator Tosh Lupoi, and it ended with a blowout loss to Clemson in which the Tigers did pretty much whatever they wanted. But a closer look at the statistics reveals it was third down when the majority of the damage was done.
Whether Lupoi returns to coordinate the defense remains to be seen. He has options, and so does Saban.

Assuming that he doesn't suck as a technician is very bold lol.

Banks can move to Special teams full time, every other spot for Jones makes no sense (unless we can't get Taylor and are forced to resort to trashcan jones at WR).

Lance Taylor has coached WRs and RBs (and asst TEs with NY Jets).
Butch Jones has coached WRs, RBs and TEs.
Joe Pannunzio has coached STs, TEs and RBs.
Jeff Banks has coached STs, TEs and RBs.
Four coaches, four position groups.

I hate the thought of keeping Jones period. I want him at the position he can do the least harm possible, TE's
But yes, shuffling Jones to WR's, Taylor to RB's considering his success with Mcaffrey, and Pannuzio to TE's makes sense.
