Obviously Saban needs to listen better on his headset and step in to change Golding's live time audibles.

When I criticized Golding in the past I was told the problem was Tosh. But, Tosh wasn't calling the defense for at least the a good portion of the second half of the season if not all of the second half of the season. Now, there's no one to criticize but Golding. I don't think Golding is back next season.

Auburn is going to be hard to handle.

Tosh was given the DC slot to keep him from leaving because of his recruiting. He stunk it up, was demoted and left at the end of the year.

If CNS thinks Golding isn't getting the job done we have other coaches on staff with DC experience.

When did Tosh start stinking it up? What game was the switch made?

Arkansas on Oct 6 was really the only questionable performance of the regular season.

Golding is dealing with an awful lot of young guys. Their QB was hard to defend and most anyone is going to have trouble defending a guy who runs under a 4.5

The buck stops with CNS. Tosh wasn't ready to be a DC last year. Now we're struggling with Golding.

Hopefully they'll iron some things out during the off-week and get some guys back healthier.

The defense being young as a reason for defensive inefficiencies won't cut the mustard at Alabama. The recruiting is too good.

Do you think Saban needs to be fired?

They were holding like hell on the edges. Don't think we've had a holding call on an opponent this year vs our D.

The runs up the gut for 5-8 yds should not be hard to defend, young or not.

He also has 5 true freshmen starting, 2 more that are in their second year, and a junior or senior that plays worse than any of the freshmen. Hopefully but the end of October he won’t be playing anymore.

I agree with this, and every team gets away with mauling our guys.

I feel Golding as an experienced DC had a big influence on the defense last season. Yet, in still I was told it was all Tosh's fault. There is no doubt now about who the problem is.

I agree. I tried to have patience and not judge the defense, but today was just too much

I'm more than ok with that. I'm fine with lying to him and acting like he's the coach in waiting. I don't give a damn

31 points and 500 yards to this Ole Miss team is just head scratching. We have too many athletes and great coaches and everything else to be giving that up.

Despite the problems, overall there are some silver linings.

Held them to 10 in the first half, and 7 of those came after a turnover on a punt on the 30. Without that turnover, they could have been going into the half with only 3 pts.

Here's a list of their drives and yards.

#1. Fumbled after 7 yards with 3 plays.
#2. 7 plays, 30 yards, TD
#3. 13 plays 65 yards, FG
#4. 4 plays, 18 yards
#5. 3 plays, 5 yards
#6. 3 plays, 8 yards
#7. 4 plays, 3 yards(end of half).

37 plays, 129 yards, 10 pts.

2nd half.
#8. 8 plays, 32 yards
#9. 7 plays, 75 yards, TD
#10 3 plays, 0 yards, punt blocked for TD.
#11 8 plays, 38 yards
#12 9 plays, 83 yards, TD
#13 6 plays, 37 yards, INT
#14 6 plays, 70 yards, TD

47 plays, 335 yards, 21 pts.

22 plays 149 yards in the 3rd quarter(but 40 of them came at the very end of the 3rd on the last 4 plays of the quarter).

25 plays 187 yards in the 4th quarter.

I'm not great at identifying individual players who get swapped out, but I wonder how much of that came with 2nd string players. 1st half stats weren't that bad.

Not to say there aren't obvious problems, but it could be worse.

Don't we have a Stoops brother as an analyst?
