You are just wrong. So passionately, completely, laughably wrong. But I will leave you to your wrong opinion, as it is your God-given right to be wrong, ya know, with free will and all.

I should have remembered this wisdom after you initially wouldn't listen: "You cannot reason a man out of a position he did not reason himself into."

Roll Tide.

Taking the argument to the point of absurdity never really proves a position either way. Some players need these reps a lot while others can benched earlier and do just fine and just about every person will have a different opinion on where that point is.

Yup, it's just a difference of opinion. No one is wrong or right, just agree to disagree and move on.

Seems like a tough year for NFL and college injuries wise. Curious to the reasoning - but maybe some level of correlation with the reactions to concussions and changing the point of contact. Obviously no proof that they are related but would be an interesting the to see non concussion injury rates looked at closesly.

It's amazing that you don't understand the difference between practice and being up 35 - 0 in a game against scrubs.

Yep. Play up their 2 losses, choking against LSU, and the transative comparison of Mercer. Winning.

The fact that you think I did this tells me all I need to know.

My whole point is - given that getting injured is equally likely during a practice rep or a game rep, and that this particular offense, Mercer, gives us a better look at what auburn does than our own scout team, then these in-game reps should be highly valued, valued even over practice reps for our starters given who our next opponent is.

And so, when he continued to scream about being afraid of injuries in this game, I asked the question, "Should we also not practice?", since it's equally likely to get injured during that endeavor without the same payoff as a game rep against a similar offense to auburn. I hoped that the absurdity of being afraid of our players being in the game would be obvious, but it was not him and apparently you.

And I am fully aware that despite me spelling it out as clearly as possible, you and he will still not understand because you're simply unwilling to attempt to understand the logic of it. And so, I am simply wasting my time. You want to believe what you want to believe.

I am stubborn as a mule, sure, but I am also willing to admit I'm wrong and change my perception when presented with solid logic contrary to my own, and I have no respect for people who are not willing to listen to opposing views. My above logic is simply unassailable in this specific argument. It's not about me, you, him or anybody's ego - it's about the logic. And the logic says that if you're afraid of defensive players getting hurt during reps against Mercer, then you should also not want them practicing this week for auburn.
