You posted that to me, but you may have meant to respond to YStar.

Only because you seemed concerned we might go back to more old school under-center stuff. We've sprinkled it in on occasion in short-yardage situations, especially goal-to-go. I seriously doubt it'll increase.

Too often, when people hear Saban say pro-style, they take it to mean old school. That's not what he means. He's means current, modern pro-style.

Saban also clearly prefers QBs that can run well too, because of the obvious advantages that offers. Tua's skill set is the ideal match to what Saban prefers -- like a Deshaun Watson skill set.

I didn't say that. YStar said that. Now that you mention it, though, I do think there are times it might work better. Goal line situations come immediately to mind.

edit: After actually reading your entire post, I see you already mentioned goal line situations.

And I don't think of pro style as "old school". I formation, yeah, and I think Ystar even mentioned that. I seriously doubt we're going to run much I formation. Wishbone either, for that matter, but jokes aside, that might would be Hurts best offense.

We haven't had a true fullback on the roster since Castile and McClain.
Fowler was talented enough to do it, but he was a RB/H Back.

We're not running the standard I formation again anytime soon.

Though I don't remember the qb going under center much in Saban's tenure, I do think Alabama was one of the first teams in the SEC to feature a lot of pistol formation.

Yeah, I know. I could've and perhaps should've replied to him. As I said, I replied to your post instead of his only because I sensed you got concerned by what he said. So, I just wanted to assure you both that the Enos hire does not signal any impending shift in our offense toward what Bert and Harbaugh like.

Yep. McElwain started doing it, along with the Wildcat, in 2009.

We didn't have a name for it back then, but David Palmer was exceptional at that, though he was under center. Little ole bitty dude, and sometimes everybody in the stadium knew it was coming, but couldn't stop it.

And Jalen is obviously more suited for a spread option attack than the wishbone which he’s never run.

You can call it what you want to and you're one of the guys that genearlly just wants to argue anyway, but when the ball is directly snapped to a guy other than the regular qb, as in a receiver or running back, with the intent to run the ball, that has generally been callled a wildcat offense.

Now go ahead and argue the point all you want to because I know that's your intent anyway.

edit: I also never said Alabama brought the pistol to the SEC. Copy and paste...

"I do think Alabama was one of the first teams in the SEC to feature a lot of pistol formation."

No i’m not calling it that because it wasn’t the wildcat. it’s not subjective. it wasn’t.

You may not know this, but you can actually post messages with more than one sentence per post.

You can even do two or more paragraphs.

You should try it sometimes.

^^^^Now he's down to a word per post. Pretty soon it will be one post, one letter^^^^

But nahhh. He doesn't want just to argue.

If you’re replying to my post, there’s no need to quote and point with arrows. you should try it “sometimes.”

Since you just absolutely insist on being a dumbass.....

For your edification

edit: As if all this silliness has a thing to do with the coaching search, offensive formations, or anything else we were discussing till this dork decided to start stirring the shite.

Not sure what you think that link proves. Maybe you’re busy on a job site or something? Idk.

To be clear, the guy in the new coaching hires thread filling his diaper about how Jalen is better suited for the wishbone is accusing someone else of looking for an argument. lol, speaks for itself. get a grip.

Actually Jalen would have been phenomenal as a wishbone qb.
