Auburn fans are still celebrating because apparently Lanning, Sark and Norvell all turned Bama down. DeBoer was our 4th choice.

Same fans that swore CNS wouldn't last 3 seasons at Bama bc he would chase the $$$$.

How'd that work out for them...AND..how many coaches did they go thru during CNS's time at Bama.

They probably paying a billion dollars a year just in buyouts for all the coaches that passed thru their program.

You might even wonder if the possibility had been floated to Deboer weeks earlier since he wouldn't sign his contract extension at UW.

Honestly, this seems pretty obvious to me. You don't finish a coaching search that quickly if you're interviewing multiple candidates.

And Byrne said he was in WA interviewing DeBoer on Wednesday. So 3people turned him down Tuesday afternoon? I don’t think so.

Let me make this easy for you for tSECRant crowd:

Bama has known Saban was retiring for three years now. Byrne has been trying to bring on a coach for at least that time. At least 100 coaches have turned him down in those past three years. DeBoer was the very, very last person on his list of 500 coaches and he finally said yes at the last minute.

Bama has never been a good football program, ever. And Bama will return to not being a good football program ever.
