I don't expect JD to do anything in the NBA for at least a couple of years. Physically, he's amazing. But he needs a room of practice. I think the lack of first step is an issue with his ball handling skills. Jump shots can be taught and improved with practice. Defense can improve as well. But I think that if he puts in the work, he'll eventually become an NBA player. And he'll be getting paid well while learning.

I think everyone was disappointed, considering the hype. But it really isn't surprising. 2A Alabama experience, and covid screwed up travel ball opportunities. I still think he's worth the risk as a mid second round project.

Do they still have Euro ball? That’s where he’s likely headed. LOL!

Actually JD flashed plenty of potential on multiple occasions by showing he can affect a game in a variety of ways

His game ending block mattered against Houston, and the week before his steal and then slam against Gonzaga sealed that game. Plus, though we lost, JD's slam against Kessler to cap our comeback from 15 down was huge, though he missed a three to give us the lead after that. People can cite his bad moves, such as not knowing the 4 seconds left at LSU, but JD had a lot of talent and made some great contributions. All the best to him.
