"It's rare that we have the opportunity to play Vanderbilt this week," Shephard said. "I'm gonna need our guys to play in a way that is gonna give us an opportunity to be successful this week against Vanderbilt, because they could care less about the performance against any other team. They're worried about this week, and this team that they're going to play, and I need our guys to be worried about the team we're about to compete against this upcoming week."

"Just so we're clear, the performance that we had at other times, it was good at times but it was extremely bad at times, as well," Shephard said. "We got a lot of stuff that we got to clean up and make sure that we're making better for this team that we're going to be going on the road to face this week."

"There's no doubt about it, we've got to do a good job of taking care of the football as a football team," he said. "We got to make sure we play error-free, as far as just knowledge of what the playbook is supposed to be like, and what we're supposed to do. Route depth and definition -- there's a lot of things that happened in that game that from the naked eye, and most of you won't recognize that those things occurred and were not good, and were not successful.

"I saw -- and I did see this, one fan tweet out, we're up 28, and Coach Shephard is still on the sideline flipping out on the guys. You dang-on right. Because there's an expectation that everything that we do on that football field is becoming of what we expect them to do on Saturdays."

That sounds like ChatGPT wrote a response in the style of one Nicholas Saban.

Shephard could easily end up being the best WR coach we've had in a decade +

The entire coaching staff has a vibe unlike anything I've witnessed with other staffs... Perhaps I haven't been around enough but they have IT ..

Shephard is one of the real up and comers. I think he'll be our OC when Sheridan gets a job and eventually get a HC offer himself.

Same with Wommack. He will be a P5 head coach at some point not too long down the road.

I get the feeling Julio is going to join this coaching staff in some capacity.

I watched a couple of hype reels on facebook earlier with coach Shephard and you can tell the players like him a whole lot.
