Yeah you make good points and I don't know why drake was benched but Eddie did fine when it's just one on one coverage but if you could see him in the ole miss game anytime there was a scheme involved he had to be told where and what to do and that could be detrimental when your playing a HUNH offense. Also he almost had a pick against ole miss and he and Landon collided and he didn't get it. Landon had over the top coverage and was doing exactly what he was supposed to do and Eddie wouldn't let it go. Kept yelling at him and even after Landon told him to let it go he still wouldn't stop so that kind of attitude might be keeping him off the field as well.
I agree the run wasn't wearing them down and the place I thought we had an advantage was with Aj. Wish he would've been able to throw more cause I think he could have won us the game on his arm.

I blame Saban for attempting a 56 yard field goal instead.

AJ had a better chance of completing a 39-yard pass.

I said it before the kick. I'm saying it now.

Oh I said the same thing that night too. I knew he wasn't going to make it, given our luck.

I agree with the attitude part. That is probably what kept him off the field. That being said, Cyrus Jones was no better at getting in position. I've seen Depriest nudge him to go wherever he needed. I've seen crossing routes where Cyrus loses his man. And I've seen Cyrus get completely man handled by blockers in the run game.

If Cyrus really was our best option at cb, next year we are in for a world of hurt.

Oh yeah. Let's hope Sylve can take that spot cause Jones is awful.

TIFWIW but there's some stuff out about Drake having cracked ribs.

Drake won't say anything about it because we rarely see players mention it publicly.

Wasn't he on the coverage unit though? Didn't he also say on twitter that he wasn't injured?

I doubt that. Drake seemed very pissed off on social media about the lack of PT.

I know he posted a picture from the game and the quote read, "gotta take advantage of your opportunities."

He did post this today:

Those are both true. Just what's out there, coming from one of TI's site runners.

Taking a stab at it being true, I guess you could say being a straight line predator on coverage is a little easier than being a juking prey on offense. If his game is predicated on his wiggle, he'd be in pain on a lot of runs.

As far as him denying it, he could just be covering. Like Tom Brady saying his hand was fine, despite it looking very swollen a few months back. Same coaching tree, do you want a player releasing injury news?

Just a guess, not sure I believe it to be fact either...

The one thing that makes me not entirely believe it is Drake could have said nothing. It's not like he speaks in post game conferences where he is interviewed. Also, what about Henry if Drake was injured? Yeldon had a good game. Don't get me wrong. It does look like he wore down at the end of the game. I do question though if a change of pace would not have done our offense some good. Henry has similar burst to Drake and can punish the defense. Granted he is not the greatest at pass pro, but it was becoming obvious we weren't passing anyway.

I always wondered how athletes personally take losses. Do you think they hold any animosity againts the teams they lose to. I mean obviously what they say on twitter is only PR.

Yeldon's yards after carry......said no one ever.
Saw that somewhere after the game and that made me laugh.

The fact there was no change of pace option for Yeldon was certainly a peculiar call.

Which coincidentally makes me believe it was more than just a bad choice. Injury, punishment, etc...

I can't comprehend it solely being Bama just didn't play him...

I wonder if they really are mad at Cade but won't say it publicly. I saw Robinson at wild wings tonight and I really wanted to ask him but he wouldn't say yes to a stranger they would only tell their real friends how the truly felt about it.

I wonder this too. I think so, especially the juniors and seniors who saw Cade frick up againts LSU in '11. Honestly I think so, but of course they'll never say so.

I'd imagine it's frustrating for AJ particularly because had we won the game, he gets a NY invite and maybe even the Heisman. He would have had another week to go crazy and get stats instead of sitting at home watching.

I think so too. I know the kicker on our team in high school wasn't really that much apart of the team; he kinda just did his own thing so if he had ever cost me a championship I would have def been more than pissed at him. Especially when you've worked so hard and are on the verge of history...his arse would have had to find his own way home cause the bus is for the team.

I can see AJ being frustrated, but I can see him being the first to come to Cade's defense. He's just that kinda guy.

It's a shame that he will have to watch a Jameis get a heisman though.

Does't really mater, I blame refs and coaches but players who aren't getting paid but represent our university with dignity are off limits IMO.

My brother pointed out that Kelly being out at center might have thrown his timing off a little and after he missed one he got nervous.

They got all the calls and our coches screwed up 3 times.

Wasen't meant to be.
