Greg doesn't need to be a homer, but his commentary Saturday night was totally biased towards smu. After the game, for a split second it sounded like he was going to offer up the very valid SOS argument, but then Scott Hamilton acted like he would slap him so he went back to gushing over smu...a team without a single top 25 win. Pretty laughable.

But like I've said...12 of 13 ESPN "journalists" put smu in their pre announcement projections...and all but 1 now predicts that awesome, so deserving team to lose in the first round.

It's a joke.

Pure Bama Derangement Syndrome

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't the SEC choose ESPN? ESPN didn't choose the SEC. If I'm Sankey, I'm in the ESPN office reminding them of that fact. ESPN has direct financial interest and influence in the CFP and the network shouldn't be actively promoting one conference over another or one team over another as most of their employees are doing and appear to be pressured to do so. The appearance of an agenda is just too strong.

Pretty sure it will result in less viewership for the CFP.

I certainly hope so.

Agree. Greg thinks we all expect him to be a Bama cheerleader but I think most of us understand why he shouldn't do that. I would just like some balance. When McDonough ranted about how SMU had to be in it would have been nice to hear a balanced discussion of why they should be and why Bama should be. Didn't even have to draw a conclusion. Just a balanced discussion. We did not get that because Greg is afraid he will look like a homer. Makes him look like someone that will say anything to further his career even when he knows it isn't correct.
