5 things to expect from tonight’s Taulia vs. Tyson showdown
quote:
Hewitt-Trussville visits Thompson tonight for a Class 7A, Region 3 showdown, but the spotlight will be on Alabama quarterback commits Paul Tyson and Taulia Tagovailoa.
It's the first time the future Alabama teammates have played against each other in a regular-season game.
The game kicks off at 6:30 p.m. -- 30 minutes earlier than normal -- at Thompson's new on-campus stadium in Alabaster. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
Here's a look at five things to prepare for at tonight's game:

1) Tua time
Alabama quarterback and Heisman Trophy front-runner Tua Tagovailoa, Taulia's older brother, is expected to be in attendance.
As if this game needed any more star power.
"I always love to perform in front of my family," Taulia said. "It will be fun to perform in front of Tua. I think this is the only game he can come to this whole season, so, yeah, I've got to perform."
Tua normally can't attend his brother's games because Alabama players are sequestered in a hotel on the night before a game. The Crimson Tide is idle this week.
With the off week, other Alabama players and coaches could be in attendance, too.

2) Get there early
Thompson's new school and stadium sit about a mile away from the old school, but the parking situation isn't the most convenient.
The new campus has only one road in and out, with the stadium in the rear of the property. Thompson Road -- a two-lane blacktop that connects Alabama 119 to the new school -- likely wasn't designed for this traffic volume.
Then, once fans get there, the one road into campus snakes to the rear of the property, where the stadium sits.
Traffic congestion could be a problem. So, a word of warning: Arrive early.

3) Slow pace
Yes, Hewitt-Trussville runs a version of the hurry-up, no-huddle offense, and Thompson also runs a fast spread system.
But with ESPN2 cameras at the game, there will more stoppages than normal for commercial breaks.
That can be frustrating for fans.
Don't let it be. Enjoy the bands playing. Grab a hot dog. Live a little.

4) Iron Bowl preview
The game involves six players currently committed to Alabama -- Hewitt-Trussville's Tyson, offensive lineman Pierce Quick, defensive back Malachi Moore and receiver Dazalin Worsham; and Thompson offensive lineman Amari Kight and Tagovailoa.
Don't forget, Hewitt-Trussville receiver Ja'Varrius Johnson is also committed to Auburn.
The allure of prospects is what brought ESPN2 to this game.
"It's definitely really cool," Quick said. "It's kind of bragging rights when we get (to Alabama). Those guys are my future teammates, so it's cool to play against them."

5) What about the supporting casts?
Tyson and Tagovailoa have each thrown for more than 2,000 yards already this season, but the outcome might be determined by someone who's not a household name yet.
Will a running back run wild? Could a defensive back make a timely interception?
And which team will handle the ESPN2 spotlight better will be important.
“It’s going to be my first ESPN game, and I’m looking to show out,” Taulia said.

We should know for sure on Wandale by early next week sometime since Enos will be in Kentucky to scout him tonight. Still no final decision made, according to those I've listened to.

If we put our full court press on him we have great chance to get him I think, other wise Nebraska and Kentucky should be the favorites.
Love to have guys like him, they are so much fun to watch. Fingers crossed.

Great thread on tRant about the Bama refs. It is getting hysterical. If nothing else it was good to catch up on some older plays from the past, LOL

You think 7SU are crazy, check out Clemson.
They literally think their entire team is better than ours.

Tua is probably just apologizing in advance for what he is about to do to LSU!
