Some of these new rule changes that are getting ready to get passed will be interesting.
-transfer during the summer and be immediately eligible to play for a new school if there is a head coaching change before the first day of fall classes.
This mostly happens with a coach getting fired or retiring.
-require schools to commit two years of financial aid for all graduate transfers
This one will eliminate the grad transfer option for many programs.
-allow walk-ons to play immediately after transferring
-prohibit athletes from competing for two different schools in the same academic year
I can understand this as rumors about Kelly when he left CU was looking at UCLA who is on the quarter system so technically he may have been able to join the team and play this fall.
-Starting Oct. 15, athletes will no longer have to ask for permission to transfer from their current schools and schools cannot block transfers or dictate where they go
I must have missed this one when it got passed. Do not like at all.

Graduate transfers would still be allowed to play immediately, but teams would lockup a scholarship for two years on that athlete, no matter how much eligibility the player had left -- unless the athlete could complete the graduate degree before the start of the second year.

Jeffery Carter's 247Sports profile page shows these verified test results, probably from The Opening: 4.36 forty: 4.27 shuttle; 40.40 vertical.

Why would we or anyone not want him with those measureables?
One thing I remember from his visit to Tuscaloosa is he looked very small.

Damn, that 2 yr rule for a grad transfer is a killer.
I understand that to mean they take a roster spot for 2 years, no matter how long they are on campus?

UGA fans are saying Jalen Perry & JD Bertrand were told to look elsewhere by UGA's staff.

Maybe there are more details in the actual language of the proposed rule. I guess the purpose is to give the players the opportunity to obtain their grad degrees. Maybe if the grad school player leaves school by their own choice after their playing eligibility is used up that 85-limit spot reopens.

Their staff seems to be much more willing to straight tell a kid to kick rocks.

Yeah I just saw where their fans are saying he was told to look elsewhere. Their fans were melting on twitter at first tho so I thought it was funny

Even if that is true, the timing is very bad. Everybody is going to relate it to the Fields incident and bunch it with Haselwood decommitment.

Was on Woolly and still stop by there for a minute now and then, don't remember RCT, but Hell, Im 70 and barely remember to put it away when I finish in the bathroom anymore. I enjoy reading this board (from of state and really dont get much Bama stuff except for here) but I notice "we" are not tolerant of lots of things, like I bitched last week because there was lots of chatter but nothing really about recruiting.. was told since I dont contribute thousands of posts, I had not room to complain... thought I would just turn and slink away but, really like to have a source of info. so came back to just lurk in the shadows. At 1st I was identifying with RCT, but seeing that this is a trolling pattern, I can understand your displeasure with his posts. (Here again, I didnt see his posts, I usually dont go back but 3 pages when I get here.)... ~~slinking back into my shadowy corner and getting under my soapbox

I agree, plus right after the racial comments, horrible timing

Is Kirby or the Ga coaches culling the herd to make room for purebreds? Seems HCNS used to get charged with that on occasion? But I would be ok with Bama culling some 3/4 star players to replace them with 4/5 star kids. But, I trust in the process and the coaches (know most are better evaluators of talent than the services.)

Next post is a copy of the 2nd post in this thread. Updated order of DL & DB targets and removed Tyrique Stevenson to add Jeffery Carter. Still including Rashad Cheney for now, though he's not expected to remain in the class.
