Yea, we had a girl from New Jersey get kicked out of school last year I believe for being a racist. Every school has idiots. It is a bad look when the racist is actually on the baseball team though

Not really Alabama recruiting related, but Jaydon Hill tore his ACL.

Sucks for the kid. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

In all seriousness, good luck. That's a really tough decision (especially with kids).

Eta: Mine is young enough that I would just move to San Antonio and start over but the older kids get the harder I imagine that decision becomes (especially if you're relatively happy where you are).

Thanks buddy.

The issue with moving to San Antonio, at this point in time, is the AF hasn't decided which base over there they want to move my office to. There are at least half a dozen military installations in SA they could pick.

The base location would factor into our decision a lot. Some of them are surrounded by extremely good school districts whereas others are fricking terrible.

Also, the housing market varies from location to location. I don't want to be stuck in traffic for an hour a day going to and from work. I hate traffic.

The kids will be starting 9th, 8th and 6th grades next Fall. I'd rather move now (if we are going to) so my boys don't have to switch schools in the middle of their high school years.

The biggest concern I have is selling this damn house I don't have any equity in and not losing a small fortune. If I could get away with breaking even I'd sell it in a heartbeat.

2 Alabama commits highlight Mississippi HS all-star roster

quote:

Mississippi released its roster today for the 2018 Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic, with two Alabama commits and the Magnolia State's top uncommitted prospect selected.

The Alabama commits are 4-star West Jones defensive lineman Byron Young and 4-star cornerback Brandon Turnage, from Lafayette High in Oxford, Mississippi.

This year's Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic is set for Monday, Dec. 17, at Montgomery's Cramton Bowl. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m., in the first Monday night game in the game's history.

Nakobe Dean, a 5-star linebacker and Auburn target who is uncommitted, also headlines Mississippi's defense, which also includes Mississippi State commits Charles Moore and Nathan Pickering on the defensive line.

Alabama announced its roster Monday, highlighted by quarterbacks Taulia Tagovailoa, an Alabama commit from Thompson, and Auburn commit Bo Nix of Pinson Valley.

Mississippi's quarterbacks are 4-star Georgia commit John Rhys Plumlee, from Oak Grove in Hattiesburg, and Arkansas commit KJ Jefferson of North Panola.

I love how the writer of this article just completely ignores Alabama's pursuit of Nakobe Dean, but makes sure to list Auburn's.

THE STORYLINE

Alabama once again has the top-rated recruiting class and this is without any five-star commitments yet as the Crimson Tide look to win another team recruiting title heading toward the early signing period.

Things could get much, much better heading to December. Ten of 29 five-star prospects remain uncommitted and many of them - especially those in the top 10 - are serious about Alabama through the fall.

Specifically, offensive tackle Darnell Wright, defensive end Kayvon Thibodeaux, running back Trey Sanders and defensive tackle Ishmael Sopsher all have Alabama among their top schools.

Wright has the Crimson Tide and Tennessee as his top two. Thibodeaux is looking at Alabama, Florida State, Oregon, USC and possibly others. Sanders is serious about Florida, Alabama and Texas among others. Sopsher is looking mostly at the Crimson Tide and LSU. Other five-stars, especially top center Clay Webb, are also high on the national champs.

After five-star receiver Jadon Haselwood’s decommitment from Georgia on Tuesday night, Alabama moved to No. 1 in the team recruiting rankings. Could the Crimson Tide significantly expand its lead by landing all those uncommitted targets in the top 10?

TAKE ONE: ANDREW BONE, BAMAINSIDER.COM

“Alabama has been one of the hottest programs in the country for the last 10 years in terms of signing five-star players. What has been even more impressive is the amount of five-star talent that has panned out during the time period. Alabama signed five five-stars in 2016, six in 2017 and 'only' three in 2018. Alabama currently has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country without a five-star.

“Plenty of top players remain in the mix for the Crimson Tide, especially those who have five-stars next to their name. Alabama is on the short list for guys like Wright, Webb, Thibodeaux, Sanders, Evan Neal and Sopsher. Alabama is also working hard to flip Auburn commitment George Pickens.

"Alabama didn't close as strong as it hoped in 2018. A lot had to do with turnover on the coaching staff. Only three assistants remain on the staff from last year: Tosh Lupoi (promoted to DC), Mike Locksley (promoted to OC) and Brent Key. That much change can certainly cause a major effect on the recruiting front when going up against other top programs. Alabama has a younger staff in place, and despite some likely interest after the season in a few coaches, it likely won't be anything like 2018.

"Alabama should close very strong in terms of five-star recruits, especially on the offensive side of the ball.”

TAKE TWO: MIKE FARRELL, RIVALS.COM

“Alabama can do anything it wants when it comes to recruiting. They’re not going to get shut out in the five-star department, so they’re going to get their share. I’m not sure Alabama is going to get all four of those guys in the top 10.

“With Sopsher, LSU is going to be difficult. Thibodeaux could stay out West. Wright is between Tennessee and Alabama. Sanders has a brother at Florida. They could strike out on all those guys and still end up getting a couple five-stars. You can never count them out for anybody. If you’re looking at those four players, you have to assume Alabama is going to at least get one or two of them.”

Wow - that super complicates it. Private school with three would be a nonstarter for me financially.

I moved states in 8th grade. I think you're right. That was a decent time to move (better than once you're in high school). I tend to assume boys do better with moving than girls (especially if they play sports).

Yeah, that's just a kick in the balls. When you put money in a house and then have to sell that quickly it's just kind of a "how much is this going to suck" scenario.

I won't cloud the board up anymore for those who want to stick to recruiting, but that's a really tough decision with a lot of moving parts. Best wishes.

At the end of the day, just do what your wife wants. That way you have someone to blame if it turns to shite.
