I get the mom part, but I don't understand the rest. What does "offering 5 years" mean? Are they telling him they already plan to redshirt him?

Idk what kind of BS ASU is feeding Pola-Gates regarding offering him a 5-year scholarship. Per NCAA Bylaws all players get 4-year scholarships and 5 years to play their 4 years of eligibility. Bama and probably most schools have 5th-year seniors on scholarships right now.

Simmons Road Show: Whose stock is up?

quote:

Most of the high school teams from the south are at the halfway point in their seasons. In the two dozen games recruiting analyst Chad Simmons has scouted in Alabama, Georgia and Louisiana, these 10 players have raised their stock.

QB Robby Ashford

I saw Robby Ashford early in the season and he did not disappoint. It was his first start and the 2020 quarterback made the most of it. Ashford, who also plays baseball at Hoover (Ala.) threw for over 300 yards and four touchdowns on ESPN against Pinson Valley. He has great size, the arm strength and if he plays this season like he did in game one, Ashford will find himself in the Rivals100. Auburn, Clemson (no offer), Georgia and Mississippi State are high on his list. He grew up in a family of Alabama fans and the Crimson Tide are evaluating him.

QB Taulia Tagovailoa

Not too many have been as impressive to me this season as Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson quarterback Taulia Tagovailoa was against Madison (Ala.) James Clemens. He had a very impressive performance. He finished with over 300 yards passing and four touchdowns. He showed a very strong arm, a very quick release and he can extend a play with his legs. The Alabama commit may not have elite size, but he checks about every other box. His ability to make any throw and to improvise when plays break down continue to stand out. The ball comes out hot when it needs to, but he can put touch on the ball as well.

Pierce Quick Dreamed of Playing in The MS-AL All-Star Game

quote:

The Alabama roster for the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star game was released this week and for Alabama commit, Pierce Quick, it is a game he had dreamed about playing in.

“It’s a huge accomplishment,” Quick said. “I can still remember driving to Montgomery during my freshman year to watch it and just dreaming of playing in it.”

Quick will have the opportunity to live out one of his many dreams on Dec.17 as his name was listed on the 2018 Alabama roster. He will play alongside five of his future Crimson Tide brethren as fellow Alabama commits Christian Williams, Will Reichard, Taulia Tagovailoa, Amari Kight, and DJ Dale also made the roster. There was also some big-name snubs on this year’s roster, which is expected with the amount of talent in the state. One of the biggest snubs was Quick’s teammate and Alabama commit, Paul Tyson.

Former Alabama defensive lineman and Hewitt-Trussville’s current defensive coordinator, Rudy Griffin, knew this moment was coming for Quick. The 5-Star offensive tackle is second to none in his eyes.

“It is not really a shock,” Griffin said. “Pierce has been the best offensive linemen in the state for the past two years.”

The game will be played in Montgomery, Alabama. Kickoff is set at 6:30 p.m. Streaming information will be provided as it becomes available.

Paul Tyson Believes his Record-Breaking Night was a Testament to his Teammates

quote:

Paul Tyson scrapped his helmet and pads on Friday, never thinking his name would soon be edged in the Hewitt-Trussville record books.

It happened in the second quarter of the Huskies matchup against Huffman High School. Tyson dropped back and delivered a tight spiral on a slant route to Jamyre Reese. The announcer then brought to everyone’s attention that Tyson had just set a new Hewitt-Trussville career passing touchdown record with 53 passing touchdowns on his career. A feat that Tyson believes he was able to achieve due to the hard work of the people around him.

“It’s awesome,” Tyson said. “It is really a team goal. I couldn’t have done it without great coaching, a great O-Line, and awesome playmakers on the outside.”

Tyson would go on and throw another passing touchdown to Alabama commit, Dazalin Worsham, to push the record to 54. He is on track to demolish the previous record, which was 52 and was held by Brandon Cox. The Huskies still have four regular-season games left, which should put Tyson in prime position to make it extremely hard for the next great Husky QB, who has the ambition to break the record.

Touchdown Alabama Magazine was in attendance to watch Paul Tyson achieve this feat. Here are full highlights of his performance.

That's true. When he posts about state of KY or WV recruits, he knows what he's talking about.

Kevin Hagan was back on Bill King this morning (every Wednesday @ 7 for those interested).

Said we weren't really involved with the recent UGA WR decomitt but that our next commit may be WR Wandale Robinson. Said that we would probably be done at WR if we got Wandale.

King and Hagan both compared Wandale favorably with Waddle. Hagan said that the staff views Wandale as also having the skill set of Jacobs and being strong enough to take backfield carries in addition to being an electric slot receiver.

He's in Kentucky (and I think his wife is an alum) so Hagan has gone to several of Wandale's games. He said although short he's really strong with great vision. Said his stop and start is something he's never seen before.

Said the staff still feels good about Justin Eboigbe. Said that Eboigbe kept the staff in the loop the whole time about the UGA visit.

Further confirming the relationship Hagan has with a staff member, King in another segment was talking about what he wants in people he brings in on his show to talk about a specific team. He mentioned Hagan and said something like: "he's not really even in the business but he's got an extremely close connection with the program and I'll just leave it at that."

Hagan said he's been impressed with Lia too. Said he doesn't view him as quite as mobile as Tua but that that was less a knock on Lia and more just a compliment on Tua.

He and Bill gushed about Tua.

King said he is referring to Bama as the Death Star until someone beats them.
